HOOORAYYY for the first post of the new year! Happy 2009 my loves! Time for some updates for the week!
New Years eve was great! We took pretty much the whole afternoon preparing foods for the party, moved tables and chairs in and such. We had 21 people for dinner alone and more people joined for the party after =D

the menu (sign stolen from somewhere a long time ago lol)

preparing foods!

getting dressed!

I was being helpful! I swear!

they have these cool streamer thingies that you blow out!!! I can't believe I've been so deprived of them all my life!
The street outside was crazy! There were people exploding fireworks and bombs right outside our house!! Apparently in Denmark its legal to set of fireworks for the whole of December and some people are sure to take advantage of the situation. lol It definitely helped that the candy shop below our house was the main supplier for the town!!! By the time the shop closed at 5:30, people started setting off the ones that weren't sold, and later into the night blew up a street light! hahaha the cops came and there was some craziness, all in all it was super fun to watch! hehehe We partied till about 5+am and I think it ended when Henrik was too drunk to function and went to sleep =X

appetizer: curry shrimp soup

my favorite hat!
The day after on Jan 1st was a slacker day!! (for me at least haha) I spent most of my time in bed and watching the Gossip girl marathon. Later on in the night, Henrik and I watched Fight Club with Jimmy and his girlfriend =D it was a pretty relaxing day!
Friday was a slightly more productive day. We finished cleaning up the mess from the party! Its good to have stuff back in order lol. And I think we might have taken a night walk or something. But nothing was opened because they were still on vaca for new years I'm guessing ;) Baby cooked dinner for me! hehehe salmon =)~~
Oh, and we ate at McDonalds for supper. I must say, its so nice to not have a Halal McDonalds!! They have a burger called "Big Tasty" (Different from the Big n' Tasty- which they don't even have in Singapore) which has really interesting sauce! I would say its kind of like salad dressing....but more....special...its hard to explain. You'll just have to visit to try one! And to top off my happiness, they also had jalepeno poppers!! yay!!!
Saturday we went sightseeing! We went up "The Round Tower" where you can climb to the top and see the entire city! It was such a pretty view!! There was also the bell tower and the church. I absolutely loved the inside of the church. It was gorgeous!! all the angels and statues and paintings. They also had a ginormous old-fashioned organ with an organist (I don't really know what they're called but I guessed since pianist= one who plays the piano, thus organist=one who plays the organ) playing some songs. It felt really peaceful.

the walking street!

climbing up the tower

It use to be used for astrology ;)

more climbing

the top! with the pretty view =D

There are so many churches its unbelievable lol

You can't see because the flash is so bright, but I'm in the latrine!
Its so small, if you were fat or were wearing a lot of clothes, you'd have to do business with the door open!

inside the church! All the chandeliers and detailed art made it so comfy!

the King who built the tower (he was a really rotund man-but I suppose that was "in" back then)

the alter

the organ (on the 2nd floor)

the pew. If you look carefully, on the left and right are the really chubby angels I like! hehehe

back out on the streets

lunch!
After the tower, we headed to Museum Erotica! hehehe A museum of sex, sex history, views of the world, history of prostitutes, models, celebrity sex lives.....stuff like that. It was pretty interesting! And they have a Royal Copenhagen Dildo!! hahaha

Royal Copenhagen Dildo! (upper glass window)

Ginormous golden penis! hehehe

Greek scandal stories

pinup walls

a display of what a prostitutes room might've looked like a while back! It was very detailed with the mannequins moving up and down and making noises! LOL

different types of dildos! hehe You could turn them on and feel (with your hands) the different vibrations!

S&M =o

a room dedicated to the sex symbol of the 60s!

And of course, there must be- a stripper pole!
We walked around a bit more. Saw the opera house and then went to Henrik's friends Mads and Sophie's for dinner. We had a very nice time chit-chatting and what nots :D

Ice rink

I loved the lights on the trees!

the opera house

the guys playing guitar hero (--,)
Sunday we went ice skating! Theres a small rink in the city central of Copenhagen and you can rent ice skates for about 40Kroners for an hour. I must say the ice wasn't the best because it was rough and had about an inch of powder due to previous ice skaters, but we still had a lot of fun! I guess it must be the people you're with!
It was so cold and windy we stopped for coffee at this cute cafe for awhile. The waiters were good looking! hehehe And later decided to have Chinese food at this place called Beijing palace or something like that. It was totally empty, save for an old couple and the single waitress. The food was........not good. lol I liked the sweet and sour fish and rice I had.....but thats about it. The rest were lacking flavor (and MSG hehe =x) and had alot of cheap vegetables in it....like lettuce and peas -.-"I think I'll stick to home cooking ;)
Monday we did more city sightseeing! we walked through the park, saw the lakes (or big ponds if you REALLY wanna compare...LOL), the red light district and the train station! They had the cutest mini train models that moved around for 2kroner. hahaha Totally childish, but totally worth it! Henrik made me dinner again :D We had hamburger with gravy and potatoes! yummm

Some of the copious amounts of graffiti in Copenhagen
Theres a lot of ugly ones, though there is the fair share of nice ones!

A church I liked

the lakes with a thin layer of ice frozen over ;)

Red light district! There were hookers, druggies and kinky shops everywhere!

The central train station

dinner!
Tuesday we set out on a mission to see the little mermaid (created by the Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen)! We walked by the Copenhagen harbor and saw a statue of David by Michael Angelo, and a few other interesting statues. The Little Mermaid was perched on a rock overlooking the water. She looked a little more leggy than I expected, but it was kinda dark. Still pretty! I remember the days when I pretended to be a mermaid in the pool. hahaha! Good times.....

My pal David (hes a nudist it seems)

A statue I liked but I don't know who it was.
Maybe its one of the Greek or Danish gods LOL

The little woman herself (note: Her boobies were not covered with clam shells like in the movies!!! Scandalous!!!)

me and the mermaid!
We also walked by the guard houses and saw some ducks (I call them viking ducks because I thought ducks fly south where its warmer for the winter, but apparently not these ducks!) and swans (that is the national bird of Denmark). We stopped at a cute cafe on the way home and ate some cold, but tasty scones. The man cooked me some pork in gravy for dinner =D hehe

Viking ducks on ice!

dinner!

Wednesday we woke up very early (ok la it was 10am) to catch the sunlight! We took a train to Dyrehaven Park. It had snowed up there! Everything was so pretty covered in white. There were a few other people taking walks through there too. As well as some deer!!! *happies* They were scampering through the forest. We sat on a bench to have hot chocolate and scones like an old couple. hahaha Really, people should take time to smell the flowers or drink hot chocolate. The old people know what they're doing! absolute bliss ;)

me on the train! (its called the "S" train.......S is the first letter for train in German and they stole the German's train concept, thus, stealing its name as well. haha)

the train station to the park covered with about 2cm of snow!
The park also had horseback riding. Unlike the ones in the US, these horses and smaller, rounder, hairier working horses. They were so friendly! We didn't ride any, but maybe sometime in the future we will!
After the park, we went shopping in the city! Now is supposedly the best time to shop in Copenhagen because like the rest of the world, there are after-Christmas and new years sales!!! hehe Baby got me a pair of jeans! *happies+loves* and himself a belt. =D We picked up my shoes I sent for fixing and some groceries on the way home! This time, I made the Singapore dish of chicken rice for him!! I admit it!! I miss rice and noodles =x I am Asian after all okayy.
Thursday was gym day!!! Henrik rejoined his gym and I tagged along. I would say its about the same size as the Tampines gym (except the extra floor for team training) except split into 2 floors. I have to say, the men there are a lot better looking and a lot less gay!!! And comparing with the white girls in the gym locker rooms, I don't feel so fat anymore =x The rest of the day was lazy, we made smoothies! which were delicious and I slept until the grocery store closed and we had to eat Sharwama again. hahaha 0=)

smoothies!

me taking a nap (and yes I've already told Henrik I think that comforter cover is ugly =x)
Also, we never have unhappening days! While milling about, we saw some islamic protest outside our window!! terrorists!!! =x j/k

Yesterday Henrik had a mini Fiesta for dinner! We had found some taco mix while cleaning out the cupboards, and there was only one conclusion.....Fiesta!! We had nachos and guacamole with our tacos! muchos bien papi!!! hahaha

we made our own dark bread too!! =D

Fiesta with Jimmy!

Taco!

Whos are those? NOTCHOS!!!
After dinner we caught a movie in the city central! We saw Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. I was such a cute and funny movie! Definitely worth the watch! Pam's rating is 4.3/5!

We had shisha after the movie!! Finally!!! =x hehe it was so crowded in there! alot of arabic or tukish or whatever people in there. Henrik's friend joined us after! fun stuff! ended the night at another pub "Barcelona" for another drink! *happies*

*happies*

me and Jens

ooooohhhh im telling his momma!
Note: after this shisha experience I've decided I miss Dipak! We had to wait for like 30-45 mins for our shisha AND get drinks for ourselves!! Plus they weren't as friendly =x
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Slut= in Danish, means "done" or complete/finished. (I saw it on the washing machine. It does not mean a cycle for slutty clothes)
- Udsalg= in Danish, means Sale!! In my opinion, they should just use the english word "sale" since its pretty much a global word anyway!
Some people are just more dissapointing than you hoped.
The best feeling in the world is curling up and falling asleep in your love's arms and knowing you can sleep in the next day!
Lets end the post with some awesomely random pics! hehehe
I killed a tiger for warmth!
with the caveman!
