Ahhh Singapore, a culture shock all over again. Much smaller than the first time I'd arrived in Singapore, but I'm still shocked nonetheless....More on that later, for now its the week and a half update since I've gotten home!
Nichelle was soooo nice to pick me up at the airport. The previous time I returned from a long trip, I was informed that I wouldn't be picked up at the airport, so Phy and Kev were nice enough to come get me......However, I get off the plane and everyone is there to greet me! So, this time round I was yet again informed that I would not be picked up at the airport. But I thought I was more special than that.....I guess I thought wrong! No one actually came!....except Nichelle that is! And I hadn't even arranged a pick up with her, it was on impulse. Thanks love! You're my hero!

me checking my makeup before i got off the plane cuz i didnt want to have to get up and squeeze out of the asile lol
So, I definitely cannot go on further without complaining about Lufthansa airlines! I wouldn't reccomend flying with them unless you get business class or higher. On my way over to Copenhagen, I flew business-so it was a pretty nice ride. However, on my way home, it was hell. First we start with the horrible women at the check-in counter at the Copenhagen airport. To put it simply, there was a miscommunication with the baggage and I ended up with a shit load of overweight luggage (I think I had 25 in the big bag and 10 in the one I was planning to hand carry like I did on my way in-they never weigh carry on luggages anyway). The lady informed me so and said there was no way she could make any exception. This was a little wierd because for all the other long or short trips I'd ever taken, they close an eye for up to 5kg-especially when I'd been away for 3 months! But she said Lufthansa was very strict and either couldn't, wouldn't and didn't attept to help. With no other option, we took stuff out of the big bag and put it in my carry on. (It would've been 2,000kr=300 euros= 600sgd if we'd paid for overweight luggage, also known as daylight robbery) Then we went to a counter with no line and the lady says we have to check with her coleague since her coleague served us first. Since her coleague was busy, she begrudgingly attended to us.
The big luggage was fine to check in but she saw the carry on and demanded to know if we were going to try and carry it on the plane because theres no way I could get it on the plane. Ok fine. We decided Henrik will take some stuff home and send it by mail. But then she continued demanding-in a completely uncalled for tone- if we were going to bring it on the plane and Henrik kept telling her he knows we can't. Her eyes were practically popping out of her head! Then she finally said she'd make a note when I board to the people checking tickets about my luggage and threatened to take me off the plane if I attempted to bring it on. WTH.
When I actually went to scan my ticket for boarding, it beeped and I was double checked! Not that the lady scanning my ticket even seemed to care. I think, if they want to be so freaking strict about weight, they should start weighing passengers. I weigh about 55kg and my carry on about 13kg. All together it'd have been 63-70kg. The man sitting next to me alone was definitely at least 100kg if not more!
Speaking of, Planes should have a secret "the person next to me is making me nervous" button. I had a fat German man to my right and a moderately sized old man sitting on my left in the asile. The man on the left was without incident during the flight, but I can't say the same for the man on the left. I suspect he has isssues with flying because he started hyperventalating during take-off, grabbing seat arms, fiddling with the plastic our blankets and headphones came in and opening and shutting the window repetatively only to leave it open to look out as we took off (still hyperventaliating). Then he had 3 vodka cokes. If there had been a "the person next to me is making me nervous" button, I'd have pressed it! When our meal was served he was sleeping. He woke up mid-dinner and freaked out pressing the attendant button repetatively (though there is no reason to since the light comes on and doesn't go off until you press the no attendant button) and asked for his food to be served in a panicky voice. He gobbled up his meal faster than I could finish buttering my roll, had a beer and another vodka coke and went to sleep. Breakfast was like deja vu with him minus the beer (no I didn't forget the vodka coke because he had one with his breakfast.....wth). He also sat on my leg on his way to the bathroom because he was so fat. As we landed, he started hyperventilating again. What an adventure.

my crackers before i ate them lol
Strange German man aside, I actually discovered airplane food I dislike! *gasp!* So I know its wierd, or I have a low standard for food (or both!) but I've always liked airplane food........Until now that is! For dinner I had some beef stew thingy with German dumplings. When opened, it looked exactly like diarrhea-complete with the small chunks of things you can't figure out what it started off as. Breakfast was scrambled eggs with asparagus (wtf?!) and sausage. That too was lame and tasteless. Also, I really hate wheat bread. Thai Airways lets you choose from like 4 different kinds of bread (with seconds!).
As for service on Lufthansa, it was another lost cause. I was so freaking thirsty during the ride and it took someone to come after like 15 minutes! another 5 to get me the drink which left me still thristy and another 10 minutes after I pressed the button again. I try not to be a bothersome passenger, but come on!! its not like there was anoyone else awake during that time!
Last thing that sorta irked me was the entertainment. Of course I don't expect much from economy entertainment, I don't really care, but they boast 30 music channels on their flights!! yes 30!!! From Jpop, Kpop, hindi, country, classical, jazz fusion, dance and nature to carnival, rock n' roll and German hits, they didn't have an rnb channel! (aka the mucic I like) even their so called "current pop" music was confusing to my ears. Never heard any of it before. Me thinks someone was trying so hard to impress, they forgot the basic mass-favorites. Anyway, never again!
So, I had food with my family at eastcoast lagoon on Thursday. It was pretty good. Didn't have anything I missed though since my family wanted satay and malay food. But it was nice to see them again. My brother grew so tall in 3 months! hes now as tall as me!!and his feet are bigger than mine. can you say growth spurt?! A lot of things also changed such as momma got a laptop! *gasp!* I didn't even know she knew how to turn one on! But she still cant figure out facebook or the internet so I don't have to worry so much still. I discovered my favorite steamboat place had moved, my fav nail place was re-discovered sort of (I heard it was in a certain building but haven't found its exact location yet though I want to since one of my nails broke in half), Bugis village and Orchard road have changed a ton too! Its like everytime I come home from vaca or overseas its a whole new country!

first satay since ive been back!
I went to my parent's store one day to check it out. Its a small place. I think theyre moving to a bigger place soon....hopefully anyway. They still need delivery men!

behind te scenes with all the paper work! -.-"

hehehe
I went to see a movie with Ravin on Saturday! We went shopping and caught 2012 during its midnight showing! We met up with Dom for a short period of time at Mr. Beans too. Its so great seeing the people I love again! I thought the movie was pretty entertaining. Its super unrealistic and pretty predictable, but who can't appreciate a feel good movie? =D Pam's rating is 4/5

Sunday was culture shock day. I brought my brother to the Bedok interchange for some lunch and to get some groceries. Since Sheng Siong is the only grocery store besides NTUC (daddy boycotts that one so I can't patronize them) near my house, I decided it'd be easiest to shop there. BOY was I wrong. The place was so freaking crowded, smelly, noisy and people were so rude! I don't think its sanitary to breathe in the air there. Half the fruits didn't seem fresh. And when I went to get my vegetables weighed and priced, the lady yelled at me =( She was like "huurry up! next! so slow! people waiting!" and I was like I'm not being slow! wth! And there were creepy men walking around, 1 who came up to me and was like "very sexy" and walked away. OMG creepy. I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. They should be shot for shit like that. But then I haven't gotten crap like that for the longest time when Henrik is around! Also, while waiting for a cab this retarded (literally) man came to take the carts. I recognize him from previous times with my parents and allowed him to take my cart because he gould keep the $1 in it. but afterwards he came over wayyy too close and patted my shoulder and scared the shit out of me. I shouldn't make a hooha out of it because he is disabled but I was just really freaked out. *sigh* Its official. Carrefour next time.

little bro at McDonalds
Later, I met with Ravin again this time just for dinner and gossip. We sat by the Esplanade and saw people cleaning up after Apec. I think Obama is stalking me. First Copenhagen, now Singapore! teehee!! (We forgot to take pictures again! gahh!!) Also, the Christmas lights are very pretty this year! (and they damn well better be for 2.5 million dollars during an economic crisis!!!!.....and they're still asking people to "donate generously" for the families affected by the economic crisis on the radio. pffft) My favorite is the star tree at Raffles place! *loves*

Thursday (yesterday) I brought the little bro to the library at the interchange. We had McDonalds for breakfast. Which I'm not exceptionally fond of in Singapore, but hey, better then lunch menu 24/7 in Denmark =x While the little bro was hunting for books, I ran around the interchange doing some errands. Plates and forks for the party, a ton for stationary for Rancher's Ribs and banking for my aunt. I had a small argument with the little bro at the library because I said he had to get a minimum of 3 books to read. He chose books about cats (the non-fiction kind) for his 3 choices. I said he had to at least get one fiction book but he refused saying that if he got it he wouldn't read it anyway. What a freaking little GAY bugger. So anyway, he got his way and I picked up 7 bottles of soda for the party on Saturday. OMFG I've never carried anything heavier in my life! I thought the basket would break on my way over to the cash register! (ok, I also had juice and some vegetables and the carton of milk I told my brother NOT to get but he got anyway making my load heavier......#$%^&*) On the bright side, I appreciate my mom a whole lot more for the many years in Singapore she carried things home from the interchange.
We had KFC for lunch (I had a small snack, he ate a whole meal. Oink) and I also ran around 2x to buy home lunch for the people at home. roarr!!! total trip took me 4+ hours!!!

McDonalds

KFC for lunch *faints*
A short while after I got home, I went to order a cake for the party. 2kg! Not wanting to sound ungrateful, because I really am greatful, but it seemed like my happiness is not worth an extra $20 for the cake I wanted. I gave up arguing and got a regular chocolate sponge. Just thinking about the children in Africa with no cake........
And even later, I met with Levyne and Gil again for dinner! This time at Orchard's new Ion mall! I hadn't bee there before and its ginormous! Theres like 4 floors and every shop you can think of in there. So much food and I got lost on my way to the bathroom!
Anyway, we had a really good dinner at this ramen store. There were 3 different soup bases and of course I picked the saltiest!! hehe AND! I tried an octopus!!!!!*gasp!* Slimey, cold and red- It was gross. Never again thank you.

Moving on, I got a bag for my birthday from Levyne, Gilda and Lynx! Its very pretty black leather! I love it! thanks guys! I love you the mostest! *love+kissies*

Today (Friday) I headed down to Bugis to pick my dress up for the party from Phy! Its very nice and purple! but the boob pockets are a little small. I think I will need some tape tomorrow! Thanks Phy, I love you!
It was pretty convenient that Phy's office is right above the party stores I wanted to go to (middle road). I needed some balloons and streamers for the partay!! Holy shit the stores were expensive, crowded and the people working were so rude! I guess thats what you get when wal-mart doesn't move into your town. $12 for 20 purple plates?! $5 for 16 pieces of napkins?! what kind of crack are they smoking! I think this party will have white paper plates and napkins! I did get some balloons and streamers and shiny dangly things though. which ended up to be $25......what can I say, at least they're in my favorite color! I spent the rest of the day decorating and napping. hehe long day ahead tomorrow!
Pics up soon! I Love you all! thanks for reading my ultra long post! woot woot!
