Tis the season to be jolly!!!......and we took that rather litterally! muahaha!
Its been a month of parties and non-stop eating! Love it! And soon it'll be the start of a brand new year! I hope everyone had as great a December as I did!
Lets see, there was Gary's birthday party!!! We had booked a space for about 13 people at Loof and were to attend after Liselle's wedding. Since I wasn't going, Lynx and I were to get there first as they only took reservations till 10pm (wedding doesn't end till 11). I was also supposed to buy the log/birthday cake. So, we'd decided on a Swensen's ice cream Log cake and I had looked up the closest store to loof and it happened to be at Suntec. Swensen's website had stated that this particular outlet closes at 11, and I thought I could get there at about 10:30. LUCKILY I decided to call the outlet at about 9pm to confirm they had the cake flavor I wanted because they close the register at 10pm!! Pffft. Then why say you're open till 11!!!
haha cute menu
So anyway, I rushed my dressing process and rushed to the train which had a 10 minute delay! I started to panic a little as I didn't know whether they'd be nice and keep the register open for me because there was no possibility I'd be on time!!! At city hall, in my 4inch heels, I ran all the way through City Link and through Suntec to get the cake!! They did indeed save the cake I reserved and the register open for me :D
birthday boy!
surprise!
birthday kiss: failed attempt number 1
Birthday kiss attempt number 2: sucess!
much needed birthday gay moment
As I was happily (and much more slowly) walking back through City link towards loof, I felt my leg get wet. NO, I didn't pee, The dry ice in my ice cream box was melting!!! I was so afriad I'd reach Loof and have one soupy chocolate mess! So speed-walked as fast as I could to Loof.
Upon reaching, I found a staff to show me to my reserved table (Lynx was late! tsk) and on the way I requested for her to put my cake in the fridge. For those who don't know, loof is an open-air roof top bar/lounge. This is how the conversation went:
Me: "Could you help me put my cake in the fridge please"
Staff: "I'm sorry m'am, there is no more room in our fridge"
Me: "But it's an ice cream cake"
Staff: "Yes, I'm sorry, our fridge is full"
Me: "But it's an ice cream cake"
Staff: "Well I could talk to my manager to see if we can do anything"
*we walk to another guy, supposedly the manager, and the woman explains that I would like to have my ice cream cake put into the fridge*
Manager: I'm sorry m'am, but our fride is full"
Me: "well, it's an ice cream cake, couldn't you do anything?"
Manager: "Sorry m'am, we have to keep our beer cold, I could keep your cake at room temperature for you if you don't mind"
Me: "But its an ice cream cake"
*pauses*
Manager: "Ok, I could put it into the freezer for you downstairs"
Me thinks: (LIKE DUHHHHHHHH!!!! You could've saved a lot of time and talking!!)
Me says: "Oh, thankyou so much that would be good!"
Then he lets me know to let him know 20 minutes before I want to serve the cake -.-"
Ok, well, other than the first part of them being a little.....slow, the staff was very kind and helpful :D
"I wore my bra outside!"
this is how we do
(ok, I did margaritas =x)
Anyway, the night was really fun! the cake was delicious, the drinks were expensive! We'd bought gary some sexxxy birthday sunglasses! and he even got a birthday kiss! muahahaha!!
Also, I made 2 new friends I thought we're just talking to me because i told them the table they were sitting at was reserved but could sit at until my friends arrived...but later thought one or both had other intentions. haha. But along with my suspicions and gut feeling- I later found I was correct and they were following the stereotype asians have of white people =x (hey hey, white people stereotype asians, asians stereotype white people. Same same but different!! I just got the best of both worlds ;) muahahaha!)
The next day there was Yangs's birthday party! He holds a BBQ every year and Its almost impossible to not break a diet there. Because even when we were done, there were still 2 big boxes of unfnished, uncooked foods! Anyway, that was fun too, running on a sugar high =x Love it!

I licked all the food before i served them!!! shhhh don't tell!
THEN Me, Lev, Lun, Lynx, Lennart, Ah Ben, Jacky and his gf went to see a movie! Some chinese one called Storm Riders 2 (I didnt see the first one.......Ok, I admit I didn't know which movie I was going to but I had trusted my friends' taste!) It sucked. It was all about fighting, a lot of those jumping around and blah. Predictable. Pam's rating is 1/5. One point for the half naked men running around! hehehe
We had J pot for dinner. The store has individual steamboats and meat sliced in Japanese fashion. I liked the soup base.....thats about it. It was expensive and the set meal I ordered had almost half of the food which I don't like/don't eat. marinated beef was sweet and in my opinion, shouldn't be stuck in soup. And we had to sit on seperate tables =/ (Theres exactly the same thing at Katong, except its an a la carte buffet for the same price, and the people are much friendlier)
hungry ah ben
Lynx and I
yucky mushrooms and squid and geen leaves :'(
Lennart!
the other table!!! humphhh
One of the Mondays, we went to Ang Mo Kio (far far away from my house!!!) for seafood! At a place called Melben, supposedly quite popular. The food was amazing good! Or maybe its just my love for seafood- but they had salted egg crabbb!!! omgomgomg sooo niiiceeee!! I haven't had any since one of Lev's parties and shortly before that had only discovered it in Penang! Lev says its rather pricey for a place like that, I don't know because I don't go to local coffee shops and if I do its usually by force and then I usually don't have to pay =x hahaha but I'll take her word for it!. For Melben, 8 people was $33+/pax. Still, good company makes anytime a good time!

I went shopping with sissy poo one day for the family. Then we had Thai Express- my favorite! muahaha! Sissy claims Thai food makes her sick (physically) but I proved her wrong! Come on now, 1 weeks worth of food poisoning in Thailand doesn't make you allergic to Thai food for the rest of your life! hehe yumm!
sissy poo
thai green laksa
I went for shishaaa!! With Mar, David and one other unnamed woman that I love! We had dinner at the shady store next to Zam Zam (because Zam Zam was too crowded), yet again making me even more determined to avoid indian stores/food. I 1. cant stand the smell, and 2. lost appetite when the dishes came with stains and the silverware wet and sometimes with leftover rice still stuck inbetween the fork holes. *shivers*
*happies to see Dipak!*

One day, Pingy and I went to the Explanade to sit and talk. But then it rained!!! SO sad! So we ended up at Clarke Quay's McDonalds eating french fries instead! bwahahaha!
I also went shopping with my loves Lev and Gilda! We hit up the town and bought presents and Christmas hats! I bought gold antlers this year! hehehe I had left mine in Copenhagen last Christmas and forgot about it so I had to get a new head piece this year! yay! It was a very fun day! Love you girls!

There was Levyne's annual Christmas partay! Pot luck always brings the best variety! muahaha! I had gone shopping with Eddie and we got to the party perrrfectly on time only to find out we were the first ones there -.-" I think everyone should make a group effort to be on time! We're not french you know!!!

Anyway, the food was great, party was great, people were great! (Except when Lennart, Lynx and Dos chased me around with that stupid insect and made me cry hummphhhh....ok but to be fair lynx did apologize many times).
I got the most elaborate Christmas present from the gift exchange from Lun! I was quite surprised at the aroma therapy gift set, I thought I got the wrong present cuz the budget was only $10! LOL

Funny convo: *In the middle of the party, boyfriend Andersen calls me and I was telling him we played Risk but I lost first! He asked me why...................*
Me: "Because I may be lucky when throwing dice, but my friends are even MORE lucky!!!"
Henrik: "Oh you should've brought you Chao Chee Mai!" (Sounds like Chao Chee Bye in Hokkien for those who don't know, it literally means "Smelly Pussy" and is a very horrible insult)
Me: *gasp* "Babyy!!!! Thats so horrible!!"
Henrik: "Whhhaaattt, you bring it out every Chinese new year!!!"
Me: *gasp* "Thats so rude to sayy!! You're going to get shot one day if you say it to a random asian!"
Henrik: "But I thought I Chao Chee Mai is lucky!"
Me: "Wait...........what are you talking about?"
Henrik: "You know, the lucky cat with the moving arm"
Me: "Oooooooohhhhhhhh, tsk, its Zhao Cai Mao!!! I thought you were scolding bad words!!!"
Sunday I went to Church! *Gasp* ok, long story but I owed my mom a day of church in a stupid bet....but anyway, sissy said they had a buffet ice cream going on and since I have to go anyway, I might as well take advantage of the special event. I thought she had a good point, plus I usually quite like Christmas service and the plays some churches put on. (I know Sunday is not Christmas but they made up some bull shit about the Pastor being Malaysian and wanted to go back to Malaysia for Christmas and its supposedly trendy now or something.....which I super don't approve of because I super hate untraditional acts during a Holiday as important as Christmas. No Easter brunch but now Christmas?! Whats next?! drinking soda water on St. Patrick's Day?!
Me and sissy before I discovered the service was 2 hours long!
Well, I get home in the morning and didnt sleep till about 8, but still dragged myself out of bed at 12 to get to church early. (Mommy and sissy says Christmas service is always full so we should go earlier to get "good seats") I took a cab down because the chuch is so freaking troublesome to get to (behind Downtown East) and though I was 30 mins early, there was NO ice cream left!! not even a speck of rice from the food buffet (except all the gross cabbage stirfry no one likes but people keep ordering- only lord knows why (no pun intended)). Sissy had saved me a little cup if Ice cream though, which was sweet. (Ben and Jerrys!- But oh God, don't even get me started on how I think its super hypocritical of a church to get such expensive ice cream for a buffet and not opt for a cheaper brand (Magnolia is still good!) and donate the excess to starving children in Africa.)
So, we head into the church's sanctuary and got a seat. I noticed that NO ONE dressed up for Christmas much less church! I don't know, but growing up I was taught that Sunday was a day to dress up for church and Christmas we dressed extra nice because it was an extra special occasion. There I was, standing in the middle of church, dressed in a nice red dress, heels and antlers while the rest of the church goers wore shorts and sandals as if they were going to a night market! Disprecpectful!
This so-called "Christmas service" was so freaking horrible I can only try to explain it in words. They ruined all the good Christian Christmas songs by singing one line in English and one line in Chinese every other line! Come on man, at least sing the whole song in English and the same song in Chinese again if you really want! Due to the dual languages, it made the service even longer! There was a guest speaker who was pretty entertaining, speaking about his life in jail, but it was so irritating that they had to have 2 languages-since I understand both, its like parroting every line!!! I'd rather listen to it in Tamil! The service was sooo LONG! After the guest speaker, the pastor continued to talk for-freaking-ever! And everything he was talking about had absolutely nothing to do with Christmas! He was blabbering on about how great this man "God" is and how much your life could change with him blah blah....accept him now blah blah....but he didn't say how or why. Christmas was like this church's excuse to make normal service 2 friggin hours long! 30-45 mins is what I signed up for. 1 hour I can handle, even 1 hour 15 minutes I'll attempt to fake-smile...but 2 flipping hours?!
My butt hurt, my feet hurt, my head hurt! The only consolation was the guy next to me couldn't clap in rythm for the songs and I found it highly amusing. Anyway, worse chruch service ever. Makes me hate church even more. It put me in such a bad mood-at the mall later- I scolded a little girls mom for her daughter was too fat and blocking my way and scolded an Indian man for trying to look down my shirt multiple times. I apologize for the first but not the second incident.
I made Christmas cookies this year! 2 kinds! Nichelle and I made both gingerbred men and sugar cookies!! *happies* It took us pretty much all day (with much slacking) but we did it! and they were so pretty!!! yayy!! You know you missed out!!! hehehe

I went shopping with Jeremy one day to help pick out a Christmas present for his girlfriend!! hes so sweet! I brought my little brother out for dinner and a movie!!! Poor thing is super unexcited to go back to school! LOL I also invited my little cousins along for the movie! (well, I wouldn't call Nigel little....though hes only 15, hes like 2 feet taller than me!! ahhh!!!!) We saw Sherlock Holms!!! Definitely a great movie to catch! I totally loved all of it!!! the plot and everything was nice. Acting was superb. Sherlock in this movie is a little more eccentric than the book but it definitely makes the movie more entertaining! Pam's rating is 4.9/5!!!
Dinner with the little bro
Went for coffee and a midnight snack at Mr. Beans after because none of the boys wanted to go home! LOL but it was all good cuz then daddy called to ask if we needed a ride so I didn't have to take a cab! yayyy!!!

On one of daddys off days, he took the family out for dinner! We went to this place that Lev had actually told me about called Big eaters! Its supposed to be as good and as popular a seafood store as Melben. I thought the Salted egg crab was not as nice but everything else was great! I really liked the glass hor fun. I'm not sure about the price this time because daddy got the check. hehehe
