    Greetings loves!
Today is a slacker day because I have cramps and don't feel like studying! =x Now is time for an overdue update!

Weds the 21st was Jimmy's birthday! So Henrik and I baked him a cake! It was a Boston cream Pie (though its really a cake). Jimmy made cheeseburgers for dinner! and we spent the night watching movies. hehe

    Baby helping out
    tada! the final result!
    Birthday boyJimmy and Julie

Friday was Jimmy's birthday partay! People came over and partied till verryyy late! It was fun though. And one of the guy's names was Francisco! lol its super fun to say LOL.

    partayyy
Sophie and Mads came super drunk lol
    They never get enough beer!
    Francisco!!!
    awwww lol

Saturday we hung out with Jimmy and Julie watching movies again. heehee!

Sunday we went to Henrik's Uncle Ole's birthday! We went bowling with the family and friends. I did pretty good the first round! muahaha! and Baby won me a leopard from the claw machine!! yay!

After bowling we had dinner at some steakhouse. It was so delicious! The steak was perfect and the salad bar had a wide selection of salad stuff. *drools*

Tuesday we celebrated Chinese New Year! Happy Ox year to everyone!! Huat ar! We went grocery shopping in the early afternoon and cooked all day! We had about 5 other people over! The menu consisted of: sharks fin (replaced with shredded shrimp), szechuan noodles, crispy chicken, chinese cabbage with mushrooms, hot and spicy shrimp, yusheng salad and Hong Kong style steamed fish! yummm!!

    cooking!
Baby in the kitchen FINALLY with a shirt on! LOL
fish (later there was soy sauce, vinegar and hot oil poured over)
Yusheng! (apparently there is no plum sauce in Denmark, so we had to replace it with hoi sin sauce and other stuff. Still good!)lol some of the skin fell off due to over-boiling
(Apparently Henrik has something against Salmonella lol)
    Huat ar!
    Shark safe shark's fin
    hehe
    Szechan egg noodles
    full!
To further the celebrations, the guys thought it'd be a great idea to throw fire crackers out the window at passerbyers lol

Well follwing the chinese traditional idea of fun, we just had to buy lottery tickets! So on Wednesday we checked if we won anything! hehe...but sadly, we didn't :( But its ok! because we bought some for Saturday too! muahahaha!! HUAT AR!!!

Thursday was uneventful. Baby didn't have a really good morning, so I made him lemon squares! hehe

    yummmm
    cabbage rolls for dinner!

This morning, we went to Peter's final project presentation to congratulate him with the family. lol It was cute!

In the evening, Lasse came over to watch the handball semi-finals. Much to my NON amusement. =x But we did see The Day the Earth Stood Still and Attack on precinct 13! :D

*More pics up later when I get them!*

more wordy lessons if you ever visited Copenhagen:

Fakta- is not a bad word! Its actually just a grocery store with good discounts (at least from what I saw on TV)

Fotex- Speaking of grocery stores, is just across the street from my house! It also rhymes with Protex- the only brand of condoms you can get at 7-11!

Magazine- Higher end chain of malls. (Also where Henrik bought me pants! muahaha)

Panduro- Sounds like a dirty Spanish word? Tsk, you dirty mind! Its just a hobby/ craft store!

Matas- They're everywhere!!! Its a chain of over the counter type phamacies. Very much like Walgreens or Watsons. Theres everything in there! (except for cream of tartar-which they said they had online by the way)

    Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Greetings love! it is Tues the 20th! Good news, we made it through the most depressing day ofthe year! Apparently scientists say Monday the 19th is the 'most miserable' day of the year. It was chosen because its the first day of the working week (which most people hate), Holidayexpenses start to take their toll, theres a long time before the next paycheck and -for thosecountries it applies to- the weather and daylight also brings people down. Anyway, since thatsthe ultimate low day, things can only go up right? hehe!

Saturday after dinner of Henrik's roast turkey with cheese specialty, we went to his friend's b day partay! It started off at their house drinking, and then to a pub/club for more partying. I didn't really like the music but there were some fond memories cuz it was a mix of everythingincluding "Boom Boom" by the Venga Boys LOL.

    dinner time
    party time!
    Jesper and me
And the guys gave eachother body shots!!!
Go figure.....you know they secretly like it! LOL
    Jimmy's turn to lick Henrik
Sunday was not a very eventful day. We ordered Thai food for dinner! It was actually prettydelicious! Although very expensive =.=. It seems it is trendy to eat Thai food as the take-awaylace was very crowded! We spent the night watching movies with Jimmy and Julie ;)

On Monday, we went to Ikea! hehe Denmark has the biggest Ikea in the world (although Ikea is Swedish). We didn't go to the biggest, but the one we did go to- I wouldn't call small! When wegot there no lights were on! So we were hoping it wasn't closed for some random reason and as it turns out, there was actually a blackout for the whole block! Even McDonalds had cleaned out alltheir food. When we got to the entrance, we noted that people inside were acting very calm-likenothing out of the norm was happening- continuing their shopping. So when in Rome.......lol westarted to hunt for the stuff we wanted to get! We actually went specifically to get a coat rack because Henrik broke the old one =x LOL But because we are just THAT lucky, turns out theone we wanted was out of stock and there were not a lot of other varieties left! Instead of leavingempty handed we bought more tea candles, new coasters, jars and spice jars for the spicecabinet! muahaha!! We also ate Swedish meatballs that only comes in quantities of 15 pieces a plate (and no chicken wings.....I think its a Singaporean thing lol)!

    Dinnerrr!!
    filling the spice jars!
call me deprived, but we used a label maker and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen! muahaha!!

Tuesday Henrik was having the guys over for their masters project discussion or somethin'somethin' so I went with Jimmy and Julie to Christiania. Christiania is this little hippie village right outside Copenhagen! Unfortunately, they don't allow taking pictures (me thinks its cuz ofthe things you MIGHT catch in there lol). Everything inside was very hippie-like. People werewarming themselves around those hobo barrels you often see on tv! The roads were totallyuneven and mostly dirt, there were pretty paintings on the walls and cute little push cart shops. The bar we went to is very popular with the people. There were live bands playing, a small bar and people ignoring the "no smoking indoors" law. The music was ok after awhile, just the firstfew were very melancholic. The most entertaining thing I must admit, were the drunk people! haha there was a drunk guy sleeping on a speaker while it was on full blast! and when it tried to sit up, he just kept falling back over. Then a drunk hippie looking woman got onto the stage with arms raised and rockin' out to the music tried to light a cigarette with another cigarette-which amusingly was not lit. hahaha. We ended the night at another really weird hippie bar. The people were all old (and I mean old!), 80% from Greenland (who happen to all look like native Americans or Asians) and piss drunk out of their minds. hahah very interesting, very amusing. Christiania is the 2nd most tourist visited place in Denmark.

The apple pop-over I made or the guys because they were studying! (The edges look burnt but its just the camera) It was delicious!

Mid-week Wednesday was a sightseeing day! Henrik brought me for a walk in Fredricksberg! (a walkable distance from the apartment) It was a cute town and named after one of the past kings. We walked though a park which the zoo had interposed their elephant enclosure. Sadly, itscurrently too cold for my favorite animal to be out. But the rest of the park was enjoyable! Wesaw the Fredricksberg castle and a lot of ducks! hehe I made teriyaki chicken for dinner whenwe got home =D yummm!

taking a walkFredricksberg park! (statue of king Fredrick)
The castle aka my future home! muahaha!
it looks a bit small here, but its really big in depth. We didn't go in because its now used as military offices!
    Chinese pagoda.....we're everywhere!!!
me thinking we should have duck for dinner! hehehe

a bagel before the walk home!my coffee with the sugar poured in a heart shape!by yours truly!

flour Thursday was baby's first day of work! So I baked him a chicken pie! It was delicious! A littledifferent tasting from the one I usually make, but mostly because not only is Denmark deprivedof jello, but it is also deprived of Campbell's soup! *gasp* (and later discovered there is no cakeor cream of tartar either *double gasp!*) Anyway, I'm really proud of myself for makingthe pie crust all by myself because I've never been able to do it so perfectly by myself before! yay!

Saturday, Henrik and Jimmy went to their guy bonding Christmas lunch (yes, yes we know itsthe middle of January...I think its just an excuse to party LOL), leaving me and Julie to party by ourselves! It started out as an all girls night with her friends -who are all very nice and sweet! It just so happens the pub we went to "Temple pub" was really popular with all of Julies friends! She kept meeting people she knew from all parts and we ended up with what she would call as a "weird" mix of people. hahaha

Of course on Sunday Henrik would wake with the biggest hangover everrr!! He threw up 3x and adorable me got foods, water, Panadol, a trashcan and watched him sleep. I hope he learned his lesson! muahaha but knowing him he learned it for 2 days and would so do it again anytimeafter!! =X lol I still love you baby! Cuz I know you've read this! =p

Anyway, later that night we watched a movie with Jimmy and Julie! They had made lasagna for dinner! and it was delicious! Afterwards, we went to Christiania for a movie. It was a cutetheater with no flooring and couches. In the middle of the movie, there was a coffee break wherethey had super cheap coffee and tea! The movie was a bit strange and shocking but maybe it wassupposed to be strange and shocking lol

from Monday again was rather uneventful. Howeverrrr baby bought me flowers on his way homework!!! yayyyy!!!! *happies+ loves* They were so pretty and he's so sweet!!! The best gifts are the spontanious gifts for no reason! I don't know how I'm going to cope not being so pampered back in Singapore =( Maybe I'll just stay on as an illegal immigrant! LOL just kidding! Freja came over for dinner! I made creamy chicken with leek pasta!

Today was Henrik's off day! so we went to the Rosenborg Palace to see the crown jewels! woohoo! the castle had a collection of furniture and jewelry from past kings, queens and princesses! It was built as a summer house. Amazing! I so love the old pictures and tapastries and especially the bling bling! muahaha!!! Less talking, more picturessss!!

    Rosenborg palace
    touring the inside
there were a lot of children on class field trips lol
    kings hangout room (fireplace)
they had beautiful paintings on the ceilingsthe kings writing room
beautiful furniture! Everything was so detailed back then!
    stairs to the next floor!
a room used by a princess
me withthe fanciest clock I've ever seen!
    The kings toilet!
Just imagine........several kings-rulers of Denmark- has shitted in that hole!!
    me being majestic
    hunting trophy
hahaha we liked the statues mustache. It looked like a french fry =x
    saving the jars!
    CAMEL TOE!!!
LMAO.....its one thing to have a picture of it, another to have a painting of it!!
    up another floor!
    The throne room!
absolutely stunning ceiling carvings depicting one of the wars
    silver lions protecting the thrones
baby being majestic- we were very majestic people that day! lol
there was a room full of bronze statues
a room full of glass (dishes, plates, cups etc)
there were also rooms of porcelin and a mirror room
Then we worked our way to the basement/wine cellar
This is the room where they displayed weapons
I think people were a lot smaller back then
very pretty guns with detailed handles
the ivory and amber room! mostly everything in it was ivory!
    ostrich eggs
I was amazed and then quickly appaled when I realized how many of my favorite animal (the elephant if you didn't know) they had killed to make this =(
another room had riding gear and an assortment of daily items
this is how Henrik would ride a horse
I was captivated by the bling and beautifulness of it all!
Then we went even lower into the basement where the treasury was!
This was a gold sword owned by king Christian if I remember correctly
    bling bling!!!
I'd have tried it on, but there was this annoing glass case around it and armed guards outside
    there was so much bling!
I wish I were the queen, I'd wear all my bling every day!
    little trinkets
silverware! (or if you must- golderware!)
all the bling had matching earings and center piece
2 other crowns from past kings and queens (I think this one was about 4 generations)
after we exited, we took a walk in the garden
The sun was up that day! It was still cold, though enjoyable
Before we left, there was an extra little building surrounding the palace that had pictures of what people thought of death, greed, morals of life and clocks though the ages.
    The scariest cup ever
Baby looking sad because its a morbid room

After the palace, we went to the national museum of art! It is a ginormous building-pretty on the outside and the inside! I've always liked all the pictures of Greek gods/tales and renaissance times. There were soo many! I had so much fun! hehe. We also had coffee at the museum's cafe. A bit quirky but very enjoyable with the huge windows looking out into an empty field. Of course, as it an art museum- there were no cameras allowed ;)

    National musem of art
    coffee break

Back at home, the guys came over for more project discussion. I made black pepper chicken for dinner! heehee =D

Also, today is the inauguration of Obama! First black president of the United states ever! woo hoo! And just FYI, I've always been a democrat supporter! I wish him a very big congratulations!

If I had a country, I'd make a law: Songs you sing and/or hum in the shower should be songs related to water. Yes, there will be spot checks! My favorite this week has been "under the sea" =D

Random pics from I forget when:
Dimitri and Freja stopped by for a couple of drinks
Jimmy being the really cool guy he is! LOL

P.S. sorry this post came out so late! I thought I'd be on time this week but the internet went down for a couple days! *gasp!* I almost didn't survive!
