    Angela's return to Singapore!

So, as some of you know, one of my favorite people came to Singapore to visit for a couple of days!I missed her so much! and was happy to pick her up with Sharlene at the airport on a Wednesday! At the same time, we saw Raksha off to Australia! Phew! Then we met Siok and her German boyfriend for dinner at Clementi interchange :D Oh, how Asian girls are so addictive ;)

On the first day, Angela and I headed o Bugis to get some shopping done! There was a few traditions we wanted to uphold (--,) It felt just like the old times of wandering around! *loves* We had steamboat for dinner- just the two of us at this new place where Jin's Deli used to be (Sadly Jin's Deli- my previous favorite place- had closed down :(). The new place is not bad though. Its a semi buffet with pretty much everything from veggies to seafoods! They do control the beef though and are abit stingy about it, but I didn't really care and just kept ordering more beef! LOL it is a buffet after all!

    someone was happy!
    YuM!!!

The next day we woke up super early (ok 12pm) to go to Bukom island with Siok her sister and her brother! Bukom is an island owned by Shell. Their oil refinery is there, but part of the island also has the Shell Club for its employees and members (which Siok's dad was). We took a little ferry over to get there with visitors passes. The club was rather cute. It looked super retro (Because it is actually that old) but well kept, with a clean pool, club house, theater, bowling alley, ping pong/squash hall and restaurant. The restaurant has rather good food and is super cheap! We had a good time bowling and hanging out :D *happies*

    on the ferry!
    shell dock
there were many many oil tankers
(ironically probably the cleanest waters around singapore)
    singapore island in the distance!
bowling! and Angela found a random guitar to play! lol
    siok's turn!
    the pool!

In the evening we heard about the Night Fest event that the museums were holding (near SMU) and decided to check it out with Henrik and Sharlene. It was actually pretty fun and many people attended! There were shows infront of the musems, thai boxing, shadow puppetry and rapping among other things on SMU's campus. At the art museum, there were also shows, the world slowest SMS board and a few exhibits.

The Pastry got a night fest fan! this was when the biggest show
was going on and it was also the most boring show =x I think it was called something like Paraboles. Waste space, I'd rather have more cambodian circuses =x
    flea market
    Slowest SMS in the world
they didn't put our requested message up :(
    Muai Thai Boxing
Yummm sweaty ribbed men! lol....sweaty girls?
    Shadow puppetry!
    taggers
    the girls!
    *loves*
abusement park....that turned out to be rather disappointing...
crazy awesome Thai man who was tied up with 25 metal cords......
bent some spears and broke them all!!! Plus an extra 2 when he let his belly out full size! LOL!
then they hammered a giant stone block on his tummy while he lay on a bed of sharp pointy nails!!!

We ended the night with drinks at Timbre and more drinks at Clarke Quay. We met the strangest people there! There was a white boy with a european/australian accent and a few malay people whom we were sure were on drugs. It was funny in the begining but then got tiring as they all turned out to be bull shitters. "Oh I was a busker once"..."oh so are we"...."I was a boxer once"..."oh so is that guy"....."yea i totally took someone's nose out" (yea right)....."oh I like soccer"...all of a sudden, "oh yea we're on the national soccer team for Singapore"...."oh yea, our coach is out drinking now, we have practice at 8am".....Pfft please, I could smell their lies from a mile awa. I'm pretty sure if I'd said I'd killed and raped a man before they would've had done it too. *rollseyes" All in all though, it was an entertaning night!

The next day, after a super chill afternoon by the pool, Angela and I went for dinner and she was off to see her parents! Henrik and I went to the Night Fest for a second night in a row to catch some of the shows I wanted to see but couldn't catch the night before. There was Vietnamese rap, a Cambodian circus and my favorite- the drag queen show from Australia!!

    pool's aftermath *giggles*
my super delicious dinner with Angela! *yum!* - from Wisma Atria's Food Republic ;)
back at night fest, just me and Henrik. I think this was some Indonesian storytelling dance!
    combodian circus jugglers!
super awesome flixible girl who shot a bow and arrow with her feet, while back bending upside down to pop a balloon!!!
slowest SMS in the world board again
Vietnam world tour! These rappers were actually pretty good. They sang in mostly Vietnamese with an English chorus, but my their songs are catchy!!! *likes*
Super excited for the show! We had to queue up for 45 minutes!
We also saw Troy here *brows*
Drag queen diva #1. He/She was more muscular than the average body builder!!!
They were performing a Hawaiian story/legend about quarreling goddesses
These sky goddesses outshone the volcano goddesses! lol
    volcano sisters!
this chubby one was so funny he/she kept running out of breath while dancing =x
He/she was equally as unny because he/she could sing both the men's and the woman's part of a duet! LOL!! Loved it!
    glamorous dancing
    all four dancers
they had parts of the audience come up and dance!
Ahh, there'll always be something amusing about men in women's clothes and makeup!
Photo taking afterwards! This showgirl/guy loved Henrik and his moobs so much! He kept grabbing them and told Henrik not to go out with such a "simple" girl!! LOL
The pastry says he was scandalized, but this picture beggs to differ! LOL
heres one more for the road!
    boobies!
One of those artsy fartsy can't-be-interpreted shows because the artist is most likely on drugs. What has the word "art" come to in this world?
    local taggers

*I wonder at which point it is in a guys life when he decides to be a drag queen. Do they just wake up one morning and be like, "hmmm, I think I'll dress like a woman tonight!"??

*Art is in the eye of the beholder

Henrik and I later joined Grace, Taco, Ron and Jaqueline at the Baordgames cafe at Boat Quay. The saff there is actually kind of confused and slow, so I prefer Selegie's hangout cafe or minds cafe ;) Pictionary is the best game ever!

    board games!

Speaking of good friends from the old days, Asim was in town for the weekend! He's working in Malaysia for 3 months and came to Singapore for the weekend. Angela, Henrik and I met him for lunch at Barcelos at Vivocity. The food is not bad there but the service atrocious. We had a good time anyway!

After Asim left to catch his bus back to Malaysia, the three of us hung out at Pacific coffee company where apparently they like their staff to have names of the month (April and May) LOL. To end the day, we had dinner at Analakshmi at Chinatown point with Mar. Man, I hate indian food, but 3 against 1 I guess. I would rather the people standing at the cashier for donations didn't look so intimidating though. Oh the mind games for free food (--,)

    coffee!

*Congarutlations to Asim and Henah for their angagement! I'm so happy for you both!

Angela's last night was spent with me, the pastry and Sharlene. We watched inception at Cathay and had the last Rochor Soy Beancurd snack together...at least for awhile ;) Good times !

This movie was ok. I think it is rather over-hyped because I didn' like it that much. I thought it had too many levels and none of the levels weere interesting. I much prefered shutter island with one big fat, unexpected twist at the end! Pam's rating for inception is 3.9/5
