    Peter and Joan visit Singapore!!

So, we've had a rather exciting week in Singapore when Henrik's brother and his girlfriend came to visit us in Singapore after a week's vacation in Krabi! A super excited Henrik drove us to the airport only to realise that Peter had given us the Thai time of an hour early!! When they finally came out of baggage it was a rather pleasant reunion. Henrik was super happy about speaking his native tongue again!

We drove along ECP so they could get the best view of the city and after they had checked into Robertson Quay Hotel, we headed off t lunch back in the east! (we had forgotten to pick up something from my parent's house) We ended up eating at Block 85 for a local experience. There was the typical char kway teow, chicken rice with fried pork and carrot cake. Unfortunately, Block 85's food isn't the best during day time, but ahh these white people have nothing to compare it to. LOL

After a short visit at our casa, we had sometime to freshen up before going to Chong Qing steamboat at Suntec city! We were 4 couples and 2 boats! The service was terrific, but the food choices not so (plus they loaded us with a shit load of veggies and were skimpy on the meat). I prefer the ones we usually had at Bugis and chinatown (plus they're cheaper) but at least this one had air-conditioning! Peter didn't lie it s much it was clear, but at least Joan did. LOL I have to keep reminding myself that my pastry isn't like the ordinary white man (--,)

the manager helping us put the fishcake in
    super delicious mantou!
(hate the other 2 chewy things on the side which I didn't eat...this restaurant is the kind that is fond of giving people things they didn't order so they will get full faster on cheap things)

We all headed to Loof afterwards (none of us drove thanks to F1!). It was sooooooooo hot up there! Seriously! need more wind blowers!!! The company was terrific though! Love you guys!

Grace and Taco +1 extra!+ one more extra!
most confused couple on the rooftop!
    *love*
    more pastries!

We finished the night at supper club. It was ok....not the usual vibe I usually see...probably due to F1 it was a lot less crowded. BUT the staff were totally unprofessional and retarded. First, all the bartenders were shitfaced, messing up orders, giving free booze to their friends and THEN sprayed everyone with water from the hose. When Henrik went to yell at him as I was wearing white, he said it was normal. When Henrik told the manager, he too said it was normal but offered us 2 jugs in compensation. However, we only got a glass each (that tasted like crap). THEN the manager got up on the bar counter to dance while the bartenders hosed him down with water, which led him to take off his pants! I fucking kid you not! They then continued to spray the people nearby with water, let customers get on the bar-top as well (one of which who fell). Oh my god. With the floor all wet and nothing in control, I don't see how they want people to go back. Seriously that place stank of lawsuits! Anyway, we won't be bringing people from out of town there again. ever. Like, I understand how wild parties get and stuff, I was like queen of it once, but when the manager takes off his pants in response to unhappy customers, and then endangers the rest, that's just like a big Fuck You!

Peter and the girls at Supperclub!
    sexxxy dancing!
    Joan and me!

Sunday was the final day of F1! All the Danish boys went to see the race together! Joan and I went shopping! We Hit up Raffles city, Bugis, Bugis street, Somerset 313, all the way to Ion! We didn't stop for food or drink the entire time! (ok we had a can of seasons jasmine green tea cuz they were giving them out free to promote the new product i guess) It was SUCH a great day! So many new things, so many things to talk about! We had dinner at the Kopitiam next to the youth park because it was the only place left open when we realised we need food! LOL To end the night we joined the boys at Manchester United bar at Boat Quay (--,) *happies*

The next day, we went to the botanic gardens! I hadn't been there in forever! I was born right across the street *giggles* Unfortunately, it was raining that day. We braved the weather and brought out our umbrellas! All the flowers and garden themes are so beautiful! People should definitely spend more time there! Just chillin' with nature and some flowers. There are all kinds of tropical trees and flowers and fish, a swan lake and even a couple waterfalls! My favorite part was the Orchid garden ($5 entry per person *humph*). It was beautiful! I absolutely loved the award winning orchids' greenhouse. It was easy to see why they had won awards being so big, colorful and perfect! Before splitting ways, we had some Starbucks at Wheelock!

    *love*
lol gonna tell grandpa that it's my house =x

    Henrik found a squirrel!
    award winning orchids!
    I super loved these ones!
super cold, air-conditioned, misty room with carnivorious plants!

That evening, we had dinner with my family who really wanted to meet them! We were also celebrating my little brother's 14th birthday! We spent it at New York New York and sissy took the Giant burger challenge! They made her sit at another table so we wouldn't help her eat. My food was great. Poor sissy was served a shit load of french fries!! She did not complete the challenge, but she did finish 3/4 of the burger. So she is 3/4ths my hero!! We had some Andersen's ice cream (the irony) for dessert! Yum!

    Sissy and her ginormo burger!
    my 3/4 hero!
    Ian's japanese chocolates
    making some cotton candy!

After we left my family, we brought Peter and Joan to New Asia bar on the 61st floor! It was a super nice place, just one of those things you have to bring people to i guess (--,) There we received the gifts from Henrik's parents. Bente had given me a CD-rom of how to learn Danish. lol ohhh the pressure (--,) I've already learned some words.....4th language anyone? hehe
We ended the night at Crazy Elephant at Clarke Quay!

    Crazy Elephant at Clarke Quay!

Wooo busy busy! The four of us took Tuesday a little easier. Peter and Joan had sometime to explore Chinatown and met up with us at Little India. Just to slip in some cultural experiences, we visited an Indian temple and tasted some Indian food *bleah* Peter and Joan said it was too spicy in the hot way. LOL We walked all the way to Arab street and had a drink at Blu Jaz where I met up with my kiwi Simon!! *Happies*

After this I guess no one's going to India for awhile =x
(except henrik who reallllyy likes the food!)

We all traveled to East Coast Park's Seafood center for dinner. Of course no tourist should come to Singapore and not have the Chili Crab!! Jesper (Peter's friend) joined us as well. Jumbo as usual, had awesome food and awesome service!! I had to order this time because I was the only Asian -.-" No one had ever trusted me with that before! Thank goodness everything turned out well!

    yum!
    the main dish!
they boys are armed and prepared!
simon is more prepared than all of us put together!
    lol peter is so confused

As usual, we had some drinks in the Boat Quay district at Penny Black to end the night. Nothing like a nice, riverside chillout ;)

The next afternoon, we had lunch at Prego. I love that place! I had the best Calzone that I've had in the longest time! *Happies*

After a bit of city shopping, we went home for a nap. In the evening, we went to the Marina Bay Sands casino! Well, we wanted some dinner first, so we looked around. I think it's super fucking ridiculous that in such a big, supposedly famous/central/popular place, in a city famous for food, there is no food around! We weren't about to take a cab elsewhere for dinner having just arrived and take one back to play at the casino. The only thing was the coffee bean bistro (hooray! microwaved foods!- don't think we don't know ok) and that closed while we were searching.

    top of the casino

Information told us that there was food at the 2nd floor viewing deck but the celebrity restaurants had prices starting at SGD$300 per pax! We hadn't even won any money yet! So the last resort was the hotel's lounge lobby where they had a choice of 2 kinds of burgers and finger foods on their menu -.-" All of us had a club sandwich. To be fair, we got there after 10pm. WAIT NO, to be REALLY fair, Las Vegas has world standard casinos as well and they have cheap 24 HOUR buffets in their hotels!!! Plus their stores never close. It's the simple marketing reasoning of how to KEEP THE GAMBLERS IN THE BUILDING. Henrik, Peter and Joan aren't Singapore citizens, what does the government care if the Danes gamble away all their money? Pfft, some world class Asians need to step their game up!

the ceiling I thought was rather cool (unless it decides to drop one day =x)

We won some, we lost some, we spent the rest of the night at Zirca! Love it!

The four of us finished Joan and Peter's last day with a bang! We had lunch at the Raffles Hotel!! OMG that place is terrific! I can't believe no one had ever brought me before! They have everythingggg. From fresh oysters to a huge table of every salad (seared tuna, scallops, chicken wraps, smoked salmon, smoked duck, tomatoes, DIY salad etc) and cheese you could imagine, a table of the best cooked sea foods (nice white fish, crab bisque, salmon, scallops, shrimp etc), the most awesome red meats- even a tenderloin lasagna :o, a roast table where a chef can cut meats or cook pasta for you and the most fawesome dessert table! I think I saw heaven in their tiramisu cake! The waiters and waitresses are so incredibly polite and helpful, I've almost never seen anything like it in Singapore (I kid you not, there were no China wait-staff and everyone could speak proper English). They even re-folded our napkins when we left our seats! I can't imagine what their dinner buffet is like! *gasp* Best lunch I've ever had ;)

Peter was as fond of the cheese bar as Joan was as fond of the chocolate spread! hehe!this was like, a quarter of the selection!
birthday present for peter!super awesome tea! Usual brand, but it came in a bigger bag that was made out of cloth! Delicious and you can taste the difference!
We went to the casino with our super full bellies once again because Peter and Joan wanted to view Singapore from the top! Henrik played at the casino some more (we won $10 yay!) and I read a dirty Danish magazine ;)

lol he used it to pay for my coffee ;)
We saw them off at the airport where there was a bit of drama! Apparently, Tiger Airways just canceled their flights due to fuel contamination I heard? And Peter and Joan had a connecting flight back to Copenhagen from Bangkok! Good thing there was a 6 hour transfer time! We rushed to book another ticket, and it was quite frantic because only Air Asia had flights and they only had 40 seats available. Phew, it was a good thing we got those though. Thank goodness for travel insurance!

Anyway, we had a fantabulous time with Peter and Joan! I freaking fucking love you all!
