    Last Post of 2010!!

Hey loves! This is my last post of the "old year"! Time is flying by so fast! I hope this year has been a wonderful year you you as it has been for me! I learned so many great things and experienced so many new things! I hope the New Year will bring all of you readers an awesome New Year filled with Fun, Love, Peace and Happiness!!

I had a very Merry Christmas this year! Santa was very nice to me! And yes, I did all the usual Christmas trimmings and then some! (Well if you want it right, you got to do it yourself!)

I made Christmas cookies one weekend at my parent's! Of course they were the usual sugar and ginerbread cookies! And of course they were delicious! This year though, I ran out of molasses and used brown sugar instead. The outcome were much "fairer" gingys!! I really tried to be multi-racial, I did!! This year I had a few moew elves to help me! Xavier was over, Henrik helped and momma elf did as well! We had a really fun time! A happy family always makes Christmas as warm as it should be!

    momma elf!
    Done!!

My sweetheart brought me on a date! well actually, a couple dates!! One was to Holland Village at Sabroso for Tapas! All because I was craving for paella and also because he was attracted to the happy hour sign! haha. The food there is amazing! My favorite was the scallops in their special sauce. OMG *drools* I could probably eat that for the rest of my life and never get sick of it! The paella was a tad disappointing, but the steak was like Woah! So perfectly cooked and so juicy! *happies* And afterwards to my surprise, the pastry brought me to Haagen Daz! woo hoo! Ice cream topping off the night makes one reaaalllyy happy girlfriend!!

    Best scallops in the world!!
    At Haagen Daz!
(They tried to be festive and somewhat failed with their scrawny tree but saved christmas with the fun Christmas music they played!)

Another date was an equally as fun one to Vivo city to hunt for a Christmas/New Years dress. We were only half sucessful in our/my quest, but the date was just as pleasant! I love love love the beautiful tree on the roof of Vivo city! Its gorgeous, bright and ginormous! It almost reminds me of the first few dates we had together! *loves* We spent the rest of our evening at Pacific Coffee because the Pastry claims it has better gourmet coffee, but I was slightly offended they didn't serve chai (which was what I was craving for at the time, but even if I wasn't, I'd be equally as scandalised!)!!

    Ginormo tree!!!

Christmas started a tad early this year on the 23rd. Or as Danes like to call it, "little Christmas". Daddy had me accompany him, momma and Aunty Joyce to the grocery stores to make sure everything I was going to cook for Christmas was bought. (Like I said, I have to do everything myself to make my holiday's perfect! No one else has the initatie in my family, they thing perfect holidays fall in to place by magic!!) We had a fun time at Carrefour (though I must say the place has fallen to the powers of the asian community- not having half the things they used to and those of which were replaced with chinese spices/ingredients/canned abnormalties) and I suffed my face with the fresh sushi they sell that I can never resist when I enter that store! We later went to OrchardCentrepoint's Cold Storage to pick up the other half of the things we needed ;)

    Centrepoint!
    shooting stars!!

After which, daddy brought us and Henrik to Toa Payoh hawker center which he claims is the best hawker center in Singapore. I pretty much have to agree! The noodles, rice and desserts were pretty amazing with generous portions and super cheap which is so hard to find in Singapore these days. AND their western food is amazing! yes, *gasp here*. You heard me, western food! Yum! From then, we spent the night at my parent's place where I spent the night prepping the food for the next day's feast!

Ohhh grocery shopping was NOT at all completed and with barely any sleep (mostly because I was watching TV since I've been deprived of good channels after moving out lol) we headed to the market for fresh meat and vegetables! Super busy cooking commenced and I hardly had time to blink my eyes. I think it should be a crime for any house smelling so damn good before 2pm! muahaha!!

    cooking/peeling commences!
    3kg of flasekesteg!!
    The colorful makings of leverpostej!
(before we broke the blender when the bacon got entangled =x)

Around then, Henrik and I drove to Mount Faber to attend church service at the Danish Seamen's Church. I bet no one knew of its existance eh? LOL the idea only came to me a couple of days before when I remembered a card we had sent to Henrik's grandfather a couple months ago. Yes the church is in service and yes its pretty much exclusive for the Danish people. When we arrived to the charming colonial red bricked building, it was so full people were pretty much spewing out the back. A nice lady found us some seats and I sat through an hour of Danish carols and Sermons. Ahhh, the things we do for love. I at least hoped that Henrik will feel more at home. The lord knows (haha pun intended) it was much more enjoyable this year than last, because people dressed nice, everything was traditional (Danish style of course and minus the weather) and also because there was a large REAL christmas tree next to the altar. =D

We rushed back after service to continue toiling at the stove, all the way till 7:30 when we went to Jaslyn's house to consume the feast! Jaslyn's house is very nice in design and such. What amazed me most were her pet stingrays in her pond in her mini back yard! Woah! Love it!! I never knew anyone with pet stingrays before! Super cool! I want some in the future! Or at least some exotic pets like a koala bear!

    some of the girlies!
    Stingrays!!!
    sissypoo being grumpy!
Though her mood doesn't change, her clothes did! Finally shes not embarassing to bring out!!
Now just to change her shoes and eyebrows and I'll be satisfied!

Dinner was amazing and 95% of exactly how I wanted it to be! We had danish tarteletter (which Henrik says is of better quality than he was used to! muahaha!), turkey and its gravy, ham and its marmalade dressing, stuffing, Danish purple sauerkraut to go with the Flaeskesteg (Danish crispy pork roast), potatoes, salad, leverpostej, cranberry sauce and bread. Anyone drooling yet? Cuz my keyboard sure is! To top everything off, we had cranberry cheesecake for dessert followed by the Danish dessert/game Ris a la mande (rice pudding with cherry sauce).**

    Christmas Exchange!

After a fun game of gift exchange (*ahem* some people forgetting to bring some), Henrik and I headed off to Orchard to meet Tiia and her brother Max who was visiting with their parents!! Of course us young people were there to play with the fake snow and count down to Christmas! Orchard was hella crowded with people and their cans of snow. It was so much fun! We bought some cans and had wars with quite a few groups! Some even had silly string! There were parades of cars and busses all honking and cheering as we counted down to Christmas. I'm pretty sure santa could hear us wherever he was!

    Helloooo Orchard!
unfair attack!! we were still drinking beer!!
    SNOW WARS!!!!
this is how we do snow in Singapore! hehehe
we bought some of our own from these shady people with backpacks because its illegal to sell them on a designated area of street now lol
    new highlights!

After the fun had died down, we went to at bar at Wisma Atria to have some drinks. I had proabably the best strawberry daquiri there :D We had such a pleasant time and the bartenders who were also celebrating gave us free cocktails! And they were so sweet to make mine extra sweet, taking note of my prior special requests! When we left the poor bartender was sick after having a few too many. I hope he still had a great Christmas! ;)

    Ion's tree!
    the inside of the tree!

Christmas day was awesome in itself! For the first time ever, my brother woke up in time to his alarm! 7am and I had only gotten in at 5am!! gahh! But all the excitement and presents could keep anyone awake! Highlight this Christmas: I finally got the Adidas "respect me" jacket that I wanted thanks to Sissy and Ian!! woo hoo!! and a pair of beautiful stillettoes from Bente and Soren that Henrik had picked out! Henrik gave me a beautiful red pair of Guess flipflops and a new charm for my Thomas Sabo bracelet!! ;D And I was like Woah, daddy and mommy finally followed the list and got me a new wallet with the same brand that I'd been using for the past 4 years and all! woo hoo! (Though I would've prefered the one with the bow, butttt no complaints still! *super happies*) I think everyone else pretty much got what they wanted as well! All of us must have been extremely good this year!!

    with love!
daddy got the belt he wanted!
sissy got the watch she wanted!
    big box, small present!!
who knew such a simple deck of cards could make one so happy?
aunty joyce only got red presents this year!!! LOL
    momma got sunglasses from Ian!
personalised pens for all the men!
all set for school from me and Henrik....I offered crumpler but apparently thats not in anymore?? lol I didn't know...
    Love from home!
    FINALLYYYYYY!! =D
daddy hopes he can still fit into his pants after all the christmas dinners!!! lolfor the gambler in his genes!its not christmas without beer!
    Christmas ninja?!?!

After some leftovers for breakfast and a little bit of Christmas napping, we headed off to Aunty Helen's house for dinner! She has this beautiful Christmas tree in the living room and all! I love the spirit! We spent some time cooking and watching tv, playing poker, chatting, the usual. Everyone arrived and there was a ginormous ammount of food! Aunty Helen had everything everyone had requested for (from KFC and Pizza hut to roast beef and clam pasta!)! Yummm The pastas were AMAZING! I've never seen any pasta with that ammount of sea scallops, shrimps and clams in it before! It was like heaven (Though if I were abit more thick-skinned I would've just pulled all the seafood out and ate it myself...hehehehe). There was still ham and another Flaeskasteg, salad and leverpostej. Even the most delisicous hazlenut log cake that I'd ever had! Loved it!

    *love*

    Xavier our mini photographer!
    Sissy and Henrik

    after dinner snackers (--,)
so full! so they have to sit around and watch chinese dramas! lol
    Poker faces

Then there was the first annual ice cream contest! Contestants had to finish and lick cups of ice cream as fast as they could and as many as they could in three minutes!! There was losts of frozen tongues and brain-freeze, but needless to say, I cam out a 2nd place champion! Woo hoo!! Xavier was awarded 3rd place, Nigel first. Henrik and Uncle Desmond couldn't eat fast enough and Ian was chicken to lose. LOL Good game guys! I'll be sure to practice for next year!! LOL

    Ready!
    go!!!!
    Third place
Second most awesome ice cream eater everrr!!!
First place got his chocolate and some toilet paper for when he has to go after eating so much!! LOL
    Yummiest Log cake everrrr

Present wise was not so good for me this year. Xavier got the most! *jealous* Apparently, SOME people are under the impression that people 21 and older don't need presents or money?? Reality check!! At this age we need the most! And its not like we squander it on candies and game cartridges, we buy things like groceries!! And plus, Christmas never has an age limit to it! I'm not like demanding for presents or anything, but if you're going to give a few nephews a present, then you should give some to all the kids under your generation right? Geez, old people like presents too.

    daddy got a new tie!
    ahhh, the infamous christmas mugs!
    I got a new necklace!
    Present champion!
    new belt!

Anyway, boxing day was very pleasant. I caught up with some of the sleep and rest that I had missed the couple days before. Then Henrik and I just had a relaxing day with the boys, filled with delicious leftovers and poker games! We even made some Danish Christmas drink! I for one think 1 cup is enough as it is SUPER rich, but maybe I had a little more. hehehe

    Christmas Poker!
    Christmas drinks!!

*~*I hope everyone had as enjoyable and relazing a Christmas as mine and recieved everything you wished for! *~*

**I would just like everyone to know that Henrik Andersen is a horrible Dane. He has spent his life eating Christmas foods (and danish foods in general) made by his mother and grandmother, never learning how to cook any of it (which I figure is most likely because he never offered to help as he was eating chocolates and cakes during that time). I could possibly be more Danish than he if I could speak the language!! LOL

    official Christmas takings =D

Other happenings before the New Year:

Henrik and I went out for dinner one day and to collect our free movie tickets from Tangs from entering into their Christmas contest! We got 2 pairs! woo hoo! We discovered a little Japanese stall specializing in what seemed to be grilled fish- in the corner of basement two at Takashimaya. It had been awhile since I'd been there and apparently A LOT of new eating stalls had came up! We tried this Japanese stall because there were seats available and the prices weren't too bad. I frankly don't understand why there weren't more people because I thought the Saba fish sets we had were very worthwhile. There was soup, salad, rice and of course the fish which was perfectly cooked, boneless and very tasty. I'll definitely be back!

Later that night we used a pair of our tickets to see Gulliver's Travels. I thought the movie was pretty funny. Very Jack Black style with the rock music and exaggerated situations. It's not the version I grew up with, but had a nice twist to it. Pam's rating is 3/5.

    Hooray free tickets!
Though the snack side has like 10 cents of discount. This is called giving, but not really giving.

There was Yang's birthday bbq chalet. That was fun with all the people and food. Yang's kept to his word and drank a couple sips of Martell and was completely drunk laterwards. LOL Good times!

Another bbq occured, this time with Henrik and his lab buddies held by his Professor Barbaros. It was very nice to meet all the nerds that Henrik always talks to me about. They seem like a very friendly and sweet bunch :D After we were chased out by the condo security, we had drinks at Pasir Panjang. Wondeful night!
