    Oh yes it's ladies night! Oh what a night!

    I went to Traders Hotel's Cafe Biz for their international buffet dinner with Jayce, Pingy and Nichelle one night! We were both celebrating the 2 year anniversary of knowing Nichelle and taking advantage of the 1 for 1 Citibank offer! hehehe

    The spread was amazing! Starting with the salad counter I loved the smoked salmon (favorite!), cheese options with darkbread, all seafood/chicken salads and the fact that you could DIY so many kinds that have options of feta cheese and pickles!! *loves*

    mmm cheese!

    Then there was the sushi spread with boring sushi, but salmon sashimi that we were pretty lucky to get as it was so popular! The roasts spread with nice roast duck and pork and satay. YUM! And the soups- Chinese lotus and french onion- the latter of which was bad though. And Chinese cupcakes, dumplings, pizza and bread with garlic butter! Mmmmm!!

    mmm roasts

    Also there was my favorite seafood bar!!! Fresh oysters and cocktail shrimp with the occasional small mussels! *Happies* I would eat oysters and shrimp everyday if I could!

    LOL we had like 5 plates of these =x

    Finally there was the cooked food area with alot of vegetables, rice and curries. Not really my thing- though I loved the stingray! Desserts were ok, the chocolate fountain is always enjoyable, but everything else was pretty bad. Tirimisu shot was nice, but wheatgrass shot?? gross! and durain and all the cakes were gross (except the chocolate ones hehe).
    Good times, Great people! I love you girls! Looking forward to many many more years! *loves*

    love it!

    Other food adventures happened with our favorite couple Levyne and Lun! We went to Paradise Dynasty one day to test out the ever famous rainbow Xiao Long Baos! They were delicious! I think all together the 4 of us had 4 baskets??? I really loved the foie gras and crab roe xiao long baos! Yum! Not so much the ginseng and green tea ones though. The pastry can't get over the black truffle ones which I think tastes like normal mushrooms. lol

    Lun and Lev and the glorious XLBs
    Crab roe and the 8 different flavors!

    We also had the spicy poached marbled beef la-mian and some egg cake thing. The la mian was nice and a bit oily but very tasty! The egg thing was just...interesting. It looks very pretty with the 3 different colors and the way its sliced, but because it's so pretty I was expecting more flavor out of it! It tasted like diluted salted egg. But hey, still made me happy!

    egg cake

    They also had the long spout teapots here!! Not as fancy as the restaurant in the UOB building, but the pastry was amazed!! I guess it is rather fascinating that the tea pourer can aim so perfectly in the cup!

    We finished the night with coffee at The House of Robert Timms across the street at Wheelock! Good quality time makes good friendships! (or gossip LOL)

    At the entrance of Paradise Dynasty!

    I spent a day luggage shopping with Jayce at the Takashimaya luggage fair before her trip to Korea (again!)! That girl knows how to enjoy life! We scouted the area high and low and finally she opted for a medium sized blue one! Yay!

    For dinner we went to Ambush Pasta Bar in the basement of Takashimaya. I wasn't expecting much from the store as it is 1. Fusion and 2. Western in Asia. However, I was surprised and awed when the food came and was wonderful! We had a fried chicken pasta set with seaweed on top and soup with garlic bread on the side, along with cheese sausages on the side and a rosti. Te garlic bread was amazing! Thick, soft and flavorful! The clam chowder was so so and the rosti was just normal. However the aglio olio pasta was amazing! The mix of garlic, chili and whatever else was fantabulous with the boneless fried chicken pieces in there turned it heavenly. Also, you could really taste the delicious cheese in the PORK sausages. Yea you read it right, PORK ;) That already makes it a 10 in my book! ;)

    P.S. Jayce also got me the cutest scarf from Hong Kong! I love the colors and patterns! Good taste love! *happies*

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Guess what time of year it is?! GSS!!! Aka the Great Singapore Sale!!! Woo hoo! So Pingy and I decided to hit up the malls! Shoes, tops, scarves and accessories! It's like Christmas but better! because all the presents are for you!!! I must say, we are getting old though.
    We did have to take a 20 minute snack break! mmm tako pachi ;)
    And speaking of old, we saw a line dance competition between the Community Centers at Takashimaya! It was so cute! Each group had a theme and a song to go with! Pingy and I were there for at least half an hour awestruck! Our favorite were definitely the hip aunties (also visibly some of the oldest) who dressed up as cave women and danced to the retro song "I eat cannibals". LOL When I'm 80, I am totally going to line dance!!
    LOL Favorite!
    P.S. My boyfriend got a haircut recently! I think he looks damn sexxxy like this! Don't you?
    P.P.S. Shout out to aunty Nancy, the best Chef in the world! I love the bah zhang (rice dumplins for rice dumpling festival!) you made and everything else that has ever added a layer of fat around my waist :D
    Goodbye Swedes!!
    So as you all probably already know, SDP did not win any seats in the parliament at all. Woo hoo for another 5 years of disadvantaged citizens and a money-minded dictatorship. I hope you're all happy the rest of the world gets to continue laughing at the stupidity of you all. Oh the scandal...
    Loved the fans!!!! One of the speeches quoted a rather famous quote (--,) ...............
    "With great power comes great responsibility"~Spiderman
    Anyway, that led to a rather sad mother's day in my house after staying up all night for the election announcements. Speaking of sad, my lovely Swedes had to go home!! We were able to party with them for just 2 more days though! And of course it had to be at the bridge!! I shall miss you all, but see you again in August!! Woo hoo!!
    Last night at Attica!
    love!
    Exciting News!! Henrik and I have booked our flights to Europe for the summer! Sadly, Henrik could only take 3 weeks off. However, we have 1 week in Paris and 2 weeks in Denmark! Plus I get a little weekend in Stockholm, Sweden!
    Plan: Aug 11 Leave Singapore, Singapore >> Paris, France
    Paris to Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 17th
    Copenhagen to Malmo, Sweden Aug 24th- 26th
    Malmo to Stockholm, Sweden Aug 26th-28th
    Stockholm to Copenhagen, Denmark 28th
    Copenhagen to Paris, France Aug 30th
    Paris to Singapore, Singapore Aug 31st
    Phew!! Anyone in the area should definitely hit me up!!
    Other interesting things: Henrik's ex-dorm mate from DTU came to visit! He was cycling- yes you read it right!!- CYCLING from DENMARK to AUSTRALIA!! Phewww!! And when he got to Singapore, we took him out to see the town! Local fare at Lau Pa Sat, a walk through the CBD, all the way to Boat Quay for beers. Good times, Great people!
    Random: Check out my pet Hydra!!! He's caught in an air bubble under some water when I rinsed out my mint dish. Sadly, he committed suicide 3 days after his capture by attempting to swim to surface :(
    More Random: The pastry snuck this in our grocery basket for "me". I freaking love kisses and hugs!! He was a little disappointed as he had expected more for his virgin kisses (like all virgin experiences ;)), but I forgive him for not growing up with the wonders of Hershey's!
    The Last of April
    Hello my loves! In the last week of April and begining of May, so many incredible things have happened!! Seriously! There was an honored Pope, Prince William got married, Osama has been found and killed, the biggest contested election that has ever happened in Singapore, among the many natural disasters happening around the world!
    On my side, the party continues with girls' days, sleepovers, goodbye parties and SDP support rallys. Its been crazy!!!
    It all started with a Tuesday- a Girls day out! Nicole, Sofie and I headed out to Marina Bay Sands for a swim! early in the afternoon is the best time to tan because you get the job done the fastest! But PHEW!! 250meters closer to the sun will really get that burn going!! We still had an awesome time with the awesome view though!
    amazing!
    We walked to Lau Pa Sat for lunch, and later ended up at Orchard for shopping. There are some things that girls will never tire of and number one is Shopping!!
    Sofie and I ended the night at Blu Jaz for shisha and dinner. Quick warning to the unsuspecting: Though I love Blu Jaz and will continue to support it, their salads are falsely advertized and probably not worth your money. There are no kalamata olives and their feta cheese is really cream cheese in olive oil. Cheap cheats!! For those who dont know, Kalamata olives are a type of olive that come from Greece, are usually bigger, oval, are visibly purplish and have a distinct taste. I'm sorry, but just because the olives are unpitted, doesn't make them Kalamata olives. That just makes them cheap, unpitted black olives!! Anyway Sofie got to change her salad and we had a wonderful night in the end! Love it!!!
    There was also a ladies night to which Pingy came to!! It was a wonderful night t Sluttica besides the fact that it was a huge sausage party!! Seriously, major lack of girls there makes it a rather unsavory place to be in.
    Seriously, a guy wearing a kilt = desperate?! Of course!! who wears a skirt to a club?! no wonder he didnt get any. Also, there was this guy who remembered talking to me and Levyne like 3 years ago! Seriously?? If I don't know who you are after 3 years- theres probably a good reason for it! and "awww but no girls wanna dance with me tonight", is NOT I repeat: NOT a good and/or enticing pickup line. And also, British guys are gross. Finally, whats with guys hitting on girls taller than them? Seriously, I'm only 5'1" if you're shorter than me and is a guy, Surgery is definitely in order! (No offense to midgets because I love you all) Anyway, it wasn't the Best night ever, but its up there on the list somewhere!!
    Wednesday nights always lead to slower Thursdays. Thus, Sofie and I fell asleep by the pool at Pandan Valley. More Tanning!! Soon we'll look like the Jersy Shore folks! It was super nice in the morning and early afternoon..till about 2pm when all the kids came. Seriously, why does school even get out that early?? Also, there should be rules for cannonballs in the jacuzzi....that there be none!! Seriously.
    Sofie and I had a wonderful day anyway! for the rest of the day we nursed hangovers with Sarpinos pizza, easter chocolate and chick flicks! *loves*
    I ended the night at Holland Village having drinks with Henrik and his lab crew in celebration for hving his journal accepted by ACS Nano!!! Im so freaking proud of my first Author pastry!! CONGRATULATIONS BABY!! Read the article HERE!
    Friday happened which I spent at Beauty Paws! We headed back to Nichelle's place to watch the Roayal Wedding! Seriously jealous!! Luckiest girl in the world who was also born pretty, now gets prince charming (literally) and all the perks and hats that go along with it. And may I add that the gown was fantabulous! Congratulations to Prince William, Kate and the United Kingdom on their new addition the the royal family =D Click HERE for Hats at the Royal Wedding!
    Nichelle, Pingy and I had a super girls night where we made pasta for dinner, walked the dogs and played with makeup all night! Loved it! I definitely miss those days when I was 13 and had many sleepovers. ahhhh good times :D
    We spent the last day of the month with dinned at Margarita's at Dempsy with about 20 other people saying goodbye to Nicole :'( The Mexican food there was freaking fantastic! I had a chicken taco salad that was so filling I had to give some to the pastry who himself had a mega portion of beef enchillada. I loved the theme and company as well.
    Nicole
    BAM!
    Green Beer!
    Score! New shoes!!
    We said our goodbyes after drinks at the Red Dot cafe. The cafe had green beer! (that actually tastes quite strange) and was very pleasant to be at (minus the wierd tree droppings) with live music and a nicely lit ambience. Goodbyes are not always for forever if you don't want them to be ;)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    May 1st, worldwide labor day (except in the US), I found it quite appropriate to attend a political rally since they're the people standing up for the people (laborers). Also, if you didn't already know, my daddy is running for office in the Sengkang GRC! The Singapore Democratic Party is also contesting in the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC which is quite close to where I we live! Henrik and I headed to Clementi interchange for a quick dinner and gathered in the crowd of over 12,000 people in support of their policies. I got to meet Danny the bear and a little bear of my own! I thought the speeches were informative and inspiring. For more information, go to: http://yoursdp.org!

    Spotted: An SDP poster at the Pandan Valley Bus Stop!
    His first politically active labor day while not drinking beer! *gasp*barely 7pm and the field is filling up!
    My danny bear! Which I got before It sold out!! muahahaha!!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Congratulations to the people and the Navy Seals who've worked so hard for the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden! Justice is served and we are now one step closer to world peace *loves* More on CNN!
    *~*More pics up soon! Hang on!*~*
