Wow time flies super fast! In the past week we've had one of my favorite Pastries visit us in Singapore! Jens had risen to the upper parts of my list favorite people when he was always the first one to our parties in Copenhagen (looking for cakes and cookies hehehe) and the last one to leave! On top of that he's super easy going and super fun!!
Jens was in Singapore for a conference sent by his company, but also to meet us! I hadn't seen him in over a year!! Nothing much had changed though (which is a good thing ;))!
On Sunday we headed to the airport at around 4pm to pick him up! Daddy was sweet as usual and let us use the car for the day! We checked in to Fragrance Waterfront Hotel (aka 2 star whorehouse!) and I apologize for the lack of accommodation for the west side on behalf of the country. LOL! After having a bah chang (rice dumpling) snack at home, we headed out to do Singapore's favorite pastime....more food at Lau Pa Sat! We had stingray, satay and murturbak! I really wanted chicken wings but the people are so pushy and rude! pfft! tourist areas.
Afterwards we saw parts of the city as we headed to the famous Rochor soybean curd! Some things we had were received moderately, though egg tarts quickly became favorites!
We finished the night off at Mt. Faber checking out the history of Singapore and all that jazz. Fun stuff!
historic murals highest peak in Singapore!
On Monday we met up for dinner after conference/work at MakanSutra at the Esplanade. Still one of the best places to go to ever where the food is cheap, good and the view is amazing! We met up with Simon and his visiting friend Daniel! Jens tried Char Kway Teow, Hokkien mee, rojak and oyster omelette! Yumm! We also did the mandatory visiting of the Merlion and walked all the way to boat quay to end the night with beer! Good times!
skyline!!Merlion! Boat Quay! beer!
Tuesday was an adventurous day as we met up in Little India for dinner! We found a cute little restaurant right next to the temple (that I actually had ate at before) and got to try quite a few items! Then we visited the Indian temple which I've been to, oh so many times!
We ended the night with Ahmet at Arab street for some shisha and beers! mmmm also hummus. I should really learn to make it myself!!
Wednesday was a complicated day in which Jens had a banquet to attend. So, I had dinner with Nichelle! Later we all met up at the bridge in Clark Quay (after the boys got smashed at Boat Quay) and it turned out to be a wonderful, yet creepy night! Cheers to free drinks and creepy men!!! Also, cheers to 8.4% vodka drinks!! woo hooo!!!
The night ended with me and my girls at McDonald's where all the fun things happen! For us to know and you to find out!
