Other food adventures happened with our favorite couple Levyne and Lun! We went to Paradise Dynasty one day to test out the ever famous rainbow Xiao Long Baos! They were delicious! I think all together the 4 of us had 4 baskets??? I really loved the foie gras and crab roe xiao long baos! Yum! Not so much the ginseng and green tea ones though. The pastry can't get over the black truffle ones which I think tastes like normal mushrooms. lol

Lun and Lev and the glorious XLBs

Crab roe and the 8 different flavors!
We also had the spicy poached marbled beef la-mian and some egg cake thing. The la mian was nice and a bit oily but very tasty! The egg thing was just...interesting. It looks very pretty with the 3 different colors and the way its sliced, but because it's so pretty I was expecting more flavor out of it! It tasted like diluted salted egg. But hey, still made me happy!

They also had the long spout teapots here!! Not as fancy as the restaurant in the UOB building, but the pastry was amazed!! I guess it is rather fascinating that the tea pourer can aim so perfectly in the cup!

We finished the night with coffee at The House of Robert Timms across the street at Wheelock! Good quality time makes good friendships! (or gossip LOL)

I spent a day luggage shopping with Jayce at the Takashimaya luggage fair before her trip to Korea (again!)! That girl knows how to enjoy life! We scouted the area high and low and finally she opted for a medium sized blue one! Yay!
For dinner we went to Ambush Pasta Bar in the basement of Takashimaya. I wasn't expecting much from the store as it is 1. Fusion and 2. Western in Asia. However, I was surprised and awed when the food came and was wonderful! We had a fried chicken pasta set with seaweed on top and soup with garlic bread on the side, along with cheese sausages on the side and a rosti. Te garlic bread was amazing! Thick, soft and flavorful! The clam chowder was so so and the rosti was just normal. However the aglio olio pasta was amazing! The mix of garlic, chili and whatever else was fantabulous with the boneless fried chicken pieces in there turned it heavenly. Also, you could really taste the delicious cheese in the PORK sausages. Yea you read it right, PORK ;) That already makes it a 10 in my book! ;)
P.S. Jayce also got me the cutest scarf from Hong Kong! I love the colors and patterns! Good taste love! *happies*

Guess what time of year it is?! GSS!!! Aka the Great Singapore Sale!!! Woo hoo! So Pingy and I decided to hit up the malls! Shoes, tops, scarves and accessories! It's like Christmas but better! because all the presents are for you!!! I must say, we are getting old though.

We did have to take a 20 minute snack break! mmm tako pachi ;)
And speaking of old, we saw a line dance competition between the Community Centers at Takashimaya! It was so cute! Each group had a theme and a song to go with! Pingy and I were there for at least half an hour awestruck! Our favorite were definitely the hip aunties (also visibly some of the oldest) who dressed up as cave women and danced to the retro song "I eat cannibals". LOL When I'm 80, I am totally going to line dance!!

LOL Favorite!
