Hey loves, I'm going to post a short and sweet overdue post! Overdue meaning like 2 months overdue! lol I made a monogrammed blanket for Valentine's Day for Henrik! So if anyone was looking for a good idea for a handmade gift that i found easy and is useful, you could try a monogrammed something too!

You'll need an idea! Some tracing paper, stencils-I found this website really helpful! Vixen Vintage, pen, yarn, a blanket (Ikea's "Felicia throw"), scissors and some needle.

    1. On the tracing paper, I drew out the stencils for the "P" letter conjoined with "H" inbetween a heart.

    2. I then placed it onto where I'd like it on the blanket and pinned it down.

    3. Going along the outlines of the stencils, I used a backstictch to shape the outline of my image. When the tracing is complete, tear away the tracing paper. I did mine in portions because I chose a big pattern and didn't want it to look too complicated and confusing all together.

    4. Using what they call a satin stitch, I started to embroider the middle shape, just stitching past the outline.

    5. When everything was neatly completed I ironed on some monkey patches I'd bought at Art Friend! (Monkies are his favorite animal lol)

    Tada!
    monkey!
    woot woot!
    the back

I think this project was relatively easy, just tiring as it is repetative. But fun anyway! I would reccomend if its your first time to use block letters and not the cursive I used because its much mmore difficult in my opinion. ;) Anyway, the boyfriend loves it! I hope it'll last awhile lol

    *check in soon for updates!*

Hello loves! Happy April! And Happy belated easter! *burps* Before moving on with the post you should all know that the post count thingy wasn't anyone's fault but blogger's. They've inserted a new program called Pagination to "make blogger load faster for readers". Aka they decided it'd be best for the thousands of bloggers around the world to have the length of their blog posts controlled. Talk about freedom of speech and the uselessness of getting to choose how many posts are displayed. So if i were to write a long post you won't be able to see my pervious posts or the short posts in my archives. stupid? I think so! Apparently though, they do make acceptions for people who get some 40k readers a day. I guess everything comes down to the $_$. Whatevs. I'm taking suggestions of other blogsites I can switch to!

Anyway, updates! We went to the Placebo concert! They're one of Henrik's favorite bands. I believe it was fate that we got to be there. We had heard over the radio one day that Placebo was coming to Singapore and Henrik wanted to go realy badly. But after looking at the ticket prices, we decided not to go as it was kinda out of budget. So on the day of the concert, we were supposed to bring the kids skating. However, it was raining and we didn't make it. That evening, Dom's friend's friend had tickets he wanted to sell at the last minute and the asking praice was definitely in our budget so we went! Yayy! Thanks Dom! Dom's friend and Dom's friend's friend! Placebo was great! The Concert was held at Fort Canning Park, there was a good sized crowd and the sound was fawesome! Henrik's happiness= my happiness! I must say, its great going to concerts in Asia. Everyone is so much shorter! Henrik was able to see the entire concert and the girls infront of me were about of equal or shorter height than me so I could pretty much see them 99% of the time too! yay!!!

So, one day we decided to use the cake/treat book that his cousin had bought for us for Christmas from England. We made "Healthy" oat brownies and a swiss jelly roll. They both came out alright. I really didn't like the brownies though. I could really taste the oats in it! I did like the swiss roll but maybe next time I'll use a berry jam as im not so fond of orange marmalade. I do prefer the American style of baking. The British seem very fond of self-raising flour but I prefer baking soda/powder as I feel they're more effective. And I don't know if its the recipies in this book but the order they mix the ingredients in could be better. Anyway, my family still ate it all!!!

piggy tails before getting materials for baking!Naked baking!tada!
    chive and cheese biscuits

My aunt came back from Japan and brought some snacks! There were some dried french fries, squid and shrimp crackers and my fav Royce chocolates! Yum! Japanese food/snacks are wonderful! *loves* talk about quality!

Speaking of family, my grand-uncle has recently discovered that he has 4th stage colon cancer. Please pray (to your god of choice) for him! And if you're as super not religious as I am, at least cross your fingers ;) Thankyou! He was always sweet on me and my siblings. The best memory I have with him was; when I was little, I loved sitting on those machines that moved in circles or up and down, shaped in a popular childrens character. While my mom was grocery shopping, my sister and I would sit in one of those machines and my grand uncle would watch us and keep inserting coins so the ride was never ending (at least until my mom was done grocery shopping lol). loved it!

So, my mom and grandma went to visit him in Malaysia for 3 days, right before daddy had to pick them up, we all wnt out for dinner at Botak Jones. I'd never been to the bedok branch before and Daddy and Henrik had never been to Botak Jones at all! Thier virgin stomachs loved it! Daddy was really impressed at the proportions and how well the steak and foods were cooked! I had my ribeye steak medium rare and it was fantastic!!! Daddy had the sirloin and said it was one of the best sirloins he'd ever ate! Which is impressive because daddy doesn't usually like sirloin cuts. Yay! My brother liked it too....so much so that we caught him picking on peoples leftover crumbs after w'd left the table! Its so embarassing! Like, as if we didn't feed him or something!! But then again, he reacts to food like that all the time!!!

    brother's excited+ hungries face
    chili dog!!!
    sissy poo
    daddy's excited+ hungries face!

David had a concert at Haiji Lane called Cotton Island. It was at one of the shisha bars. Itwas really nice. $10 entry and a free beer. Though I could ask for a few happier songs LOL. I really liked the begining with the coconut guitar or whatever it was!

Henrik and I attended Raksha's 21st birthday party! t was fun to meet all her friends and her dad. Everyone was friendly and her cake (tiramisu)-baked by her friend's boyfriend who is an Italien chef, who totally looks like a Guido- was freaking amazing!!! Wow! So many good tiramisus this year! I think I'm going to have to make one of my own soon! ;)

    Raksha, me and her friend
    hehe garlic bread
I taught henrik how to blow these plastic bubble thingies I use to play with when I was little!

We actually did manage to bring the boys out to Eastcoast Park for rollerblading one dry and sunny Saturday. My little cousin is really good at it now! My brother is catching up. Next person to learn is Henrik! heehee I think we had more of a workout than the bys by walking because we walked like two miles or more from Big Splash to the famous ECP McDonalds and back but they only had to roll! They were 10x more tired than us though. LOL. Good, finally they will sleep early without complaining =x We ended the night with dinner at KFC! yum!

I have a good suggestion!! I think skate rental places should have 2 stores along the ECP road. That way, like cars we can rent a pair, skate, and return at the next store instead of skating 1 hour away form the store and 1 hour back to the store. That'll be so much more fun! Plus convenient if we wanted to eat something at a different part of ECP.

Ian made dinner for us one evening! It was...not too bad actually! We had garlic-lemon shrimp for appertizers, jamaican jerk chicken and pineapple turnover for dessert. The main was a little sour but still good! Its just the dessert we have to work on! hehe! loved it! Though I must add....the clean up job almost makes it not worth asking your 13 year old brother to cook! LOL

The best thing to wake up to in the mornings are ELEPHANT SHAPED PANCAKES!!! heehee! By my request and Henrik's sweetness, he made an elepahnt shaped pancake for me for breakfast!(the others were just round) *happies!!!!*

Did someone mention elephants?! Good News! 2 male twin baby elephants were born in the Thai province of Surin! Thong-Kum and Thong-Tang are believed to be the world’s first set of male twin elephants. They already weigh a healthy 80kg. They were born two hours apart to a cheering crowd. I so wish I was there! I think one of them has fallen sick but I'm not really sure on its status now. I hope all is well! *happies* Video Here, article here!

We had a couples night out with Grace and Taco, Ron ad Jac at Haji Lane! I brought daddy along that day! We had a really good time! daddy reminded me of an old wise man telling stories and way of life tales to us "youngens". hehehe. My daddy is the coolest! Of course wise men have to go home "early" (11pm) and afterwards, Henrik, Grace, Taco and I went to Mustafa! The Stinky, 24 hour shopping mall! It was....interesting. I'd say the only think I liked about it was the fact that its open 24 hours. The stuff is too scary to buy even if I do save $5 LOL. Good times. I love you daddy!

So, updates on my lost phone= I want a new phone! However when I went to Starhub, they said I couldn't renew my contract until June because it hasn't been a year yet, and then even then I'd have to pay $100 extra. So I was like how about I give u a 100 dollars now? but no, I have to wait till June. I want the Sony Ericsson Aino!! But I can't afford the $600+ for it right now :( Starhub did give me a $100 voucher, but the crappiest, cheapest phone they have is $195. And on top of that its a Nokia in which I loathe. *sadded* Gee Starhub, rip off much? (retorical question!) Anyway, as disappointed as I was, I had a good day with momma and Henrik! Daddy came to pick us up later and have coffee at McCafe! I had bough some half-price sushi at Carrefour! Actually, probably cheaper......

    Lunch dessert!
Shopping around! And momma bought a pocket elephant from me! heehee!

So I was looking at the sushi in the normal sushi area and the lady behind the counter told me in horrible english "buy 2 for $10". Apparently she assumed I couldn't speak/ didn't understand Chinese. It looked like she was afriad I wouldn't buy sushi and upped the promotion abit since they want to get rid of the sushi before they close (which is more than I can say about the sushi across the street from my house =x). So I played along and said in english "oh, for which ones?" and she replied all. She also asked this chinese lady to translate into english the 2 for $10 promotion and stressed the fact that I should pay at the seperate sushi counter from the rest of the cashiers. I chose 2 boxes and walked around abit before going to the sushi cashier. I reach and the same China woman was there next to a man at the cashier. The man told me $13++ and I kind of looked at her in a confused way and she says in mandrin to the man, "Oh, heh I told her 2 for $10, just give it to her" and he obliged. I paid, smiled and walked away still smiling.

At McCafe later, I took out the sushi to snack on with the coffee. Daddy was waiting for the coffees to be made and brought over 2 small cups of water. I presume the cups are small because they don't want people to go to the establishment and drink water instead of buying drinks. Anyway, Henrik drank some water and put it down quickly and asked what the small cups were for. With the straightest face I could muster I told him they were for washing fingers because we were eating sushi!!! *gasp* My mom starts cracking up- but played alog. He was so embarassed because previously we had talked about the finger-washing-dish for shellfish and how some people had asked if it was drinkable. Towards the end of our visit to McCafe, I drank a cup of water and Henrik looked at me like I was crazy. I then had to tell him I had tricked him and it was actually for drinking. hahahahaha Poor thing, now he won't believe me anymore. I'm just waiting for the day I tell him its for finger washing and he drinks it!

    suhshi!!!
    momma and daddy!

......................................................peanut eventually found his spot in the car
    Yay!

I brought Henrik to Chinatown with my loves Levyne and Gilda!!!! Henrik got ripped off at the Hawker center. 1 watermelon juice and 1 bottle of ice mountain water at $5!!! He is officially banned from buying things there! We ended up eating at Imperial Treasure at Marina Square though. My favorite szechuan food store at Chinatown turned into a steamboat store :( Anyway, we had a good night learning....different languages! (--,)

Let't not forget the Holiday we had this month! Easter!!!! We painted eggs and made a Easter egg tree!!! The first I've made in Singapore! I couldn't find easter eye dye to save my life, so we use poster paints instead! the tree was fashioned out of the leftover pussy willow we were going to throw out from Chinese New Year! I painted eggs with bunnies, chicks, lambs and hamsters!!! Love it!

Tada! The yellow feathers on the tree is a Scandanavian tradition. Henrik says its supposed to represent the chicken(s) we got the eggs from. I think he doesn't really know but assumed since he was younger. Because 1. I think its really morbid to have a naked chicken running around after you've stolen, killed and painted its eggs, 2. I've never seen or heard of a yellow chicken before.
painting the brown eggs!my brother who insisted on painting his egg black though I specifically said that only pastel colors were allowed!!!!!! roar!!
    bunny egg!
one of these lambs is not like the other....dinner that night! I made a quick quiche!

On Easter Sunday, we made a giant Danish Easter lunch with all the traditional Danish foods! We had Danish meatballs (frikadeller), fish fillets, roast lamb leg, asparagus, ceasar's salad, dark break and all the darkbread toppings- gravad salmon(smoked salmon) and herring! It was so fun! It was entertaining when my cousin Nigel decided to take the biggest ammount of schanps(aka aquavit) ever! We gave my uncle 2 shots to taste since he was driving and my cousin decided to be smart and poured himself a big glass. LOL He had to wash it down with coke later! Good times!

the Cheese Gateau I made for dessert!

The bi-annual pub crawl came and went! Henrik and I went! for those of you who know us, we actually met on the pub crawl 2 years ago! LOL (though I may not have remembered, it is what it is! LOL) The pub crawl was great! I got to meet Desmond and Simon again after such a long while! There was this really annoying, clingy Norwegian guy whom Henrik slapped. Other than that, we had a good time meeting new people and drinking. We went to a coffee shop, and 3 bars including Eski Bar- the warmest I'd ever felt in there! LOL

me with some very nice people!
Home club where we all ended!

    More pics here

Recently, we had a Dip Party with Grace and Taco! We went to Giant to pick up some ingredients and made hamburgers and 3 dips for dinner! We had avacado, kimchi and salsa dips! It was so Yummy! I think our hamburgers could beat any restaurant's hamburgers! Plus we can choose whatever we want to put in it! Yum!

Waiting for Grace on the way to Giant!
    my fav pic ever! Lol
    *gasp!* boys in the kitchen!
    Yum!
    my ginormous burger!
    dips!

And while Grace and I made molten chocolate desserts, the guys played playstation. Hmmm, I sense some kind of stereotypical roles going on here (--,) Anyway, the molten chocolate turned out amazing! I freaking loved it! bye bye diet! cake on the outside, liquid chocolate in the inside! *loves!*

    done!
YUM! Yes, Henrik did bring my favorite heart shaped creme brulee bowls here!
Happy after so long of playstation deprevation!

On another "date night", we saw Clash of the Titans! The guys (Taco, Ron and Henrik) wanted to see it pretty badly. Henrik was even more excited to discover a famous Danish actor as one of the leads. LOL The movie was actually pretty good. The story line can't really go wrong with the classic greek stories, the imagery and everything else- including hott Sam Worthington was great! Pam's rating is 4.1/5

    Conversation of wisdom:
    *driving on the roads*
Me: wth, why do they call this a flyover? I thought flyovers are supposed to be big!
Henrik: Well, just because its asian, doesn't mean its not a penis.

    Random Pic:

I left a cup of oil out and a baby lizard fell in it and got preserved! Its eyes were still open!!! gross! I don't know who cleaned it out but it wasn't me!

Shout out to Sau! who is one of my readers and reminded me to blog ;) thanks for reading! *loves*
