    March Madness!!

    March was actually quite an entertaining month!

    I went gay clubbing with Ravin and Pingy one Friday just to check things out (--,) It was in Tanjong Pagar and doesn't look like anything from the outside, but the inside was completely crowded! The vibe was fun and the people were very very sweet! There was everyone from models to the undercover gays. I mean, it was just like a normal club but the people making out were the same sex. I did really like their infatuation with lady gaga and all the best girl music! ;)

    LOL one of the many....artsy pictures I likedLOL the crazy indian man in the back tried to kiss everyone and finally succeeded!
    us with Aundy the model whom I think looks like someone from Twilight

    Some surprising sister-bonding time occurred! Sissy stayed over for a night but not before we went shopping in the afternoon! I got a bunch of much needed hair accessories and a dress. hehehe. We even got friendship bracelets! *gasp*

    In the evening we went to Vivo City's The White Dog to have dinner with Yongsoo and Henrik! They still have their beer promotion! and their food is actually pretty yummy, I had half a spring chicken :D

    Hehe I saw a cockroach so henrik carried me home!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The best day of my life occurred on Saturday March 12! I had a manicure and pedicure with the girls at Far East Plaza! Love it! Nothing like being pampered for several hours!
    THEN after some shopping I met Henrik at Suntec for dinner! We tried the new Tawandang Thai-German restaurant and brewery. The tom-yum soup was pretty delicious with the coconut in it! Then I had mango sticky rice for dessert! Yummy!! The rice wasn't cooked perfectly, but I loved the mangoes an coconut milk!
    Beer!
    Mango sticky rice!
    THEN we took a cab to Marina Bay Sands to he new theater to see the Lion King Musical!! Only like my dream come true!!! The new theater is quite pretty and quite modern. Smaller than I expected, but very well stationed so that no seat is a bad one. It was the most amazing musical I've ever seen with the animals and the singing! The lady who played Nala was freaking amazing! All the transitions were super smooth and I loved Loved the opening scene. The parade of animals went down the aisle with all the colors and all the singing! And they even included some singlish and singaporean terms in it. LOL loved it and was worth every penny!
    New theater is all shinyyy!!
    To end the best day of my life, we stopped by Stereolounge for a couple of drinks and started my Paddington Bear sticker collection from 7-11! The man even gave us extra! Best. Day. EVER!!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Speaking of Paddington Bears, after collecting sticker after sticker by forcing Henrik to spend $5 at 7-11 every chance I could get, I finally got my bear! I couldn't choose the one I wanted (Tokyo- has a purple hat!) but I got the New York Bear that is almost equally as cute! *Happies!!* only 7 more stickers till Paddy number 2!!

    Paddy goes for a ride!

    Another big big event occurred when there was the IT fair! Henrik finally got a new laptop that he is in love with! More so than me if I dare say so!! LOL but its all good because I get free use of it AND it hooks up to the TV! Never leaving the couch again! hehe

    Sunny March also brought us out to the beach with Levyne and Dom! It was a nice tanny day at Siloso with snacks and a beach volleyball tournament in front of us and all! *happies* Time to lose more weight!!

    Levyne!
    Dom and his serious sun tanning!

    Lets not forget the Wednesdays which are ladies' nights! There was the bridge and some Stereolounge and mostly Attica! Very Epic nights! Its great to be girls most of the time!

    Albert and Simon!
    I don't even know! lol
    Alex!The girls! *loves*
    Sofie and Nicole

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Culinary accomplishment this month include teaching the pastry to prepare century eggs, salted eggs and porridge that I like! 1 step closer to being Asian!
    Jayce also came over one day to teach me some Chinese food cooking! We made Hong Kong fried rice, stir-fried spinach, ham and bean mix, Chinese omelet and Xiao Long Baos!! All of it were super delicious! Its about time I start learning how to mess with the Chinese sauces!
    squeezing the xiao long bao
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Last but not least, to end the fantabulous month of March, Henrik and I went to the Gold Class Golden Village theater with Levyne and Lun for the first time! At almost 5x the price of a regular movie ticket we were prepared for extraordinary! So we got there about 30 minutes before (we had been at Vivo to book the tickets 5 hours earlier lol) and sat in the very nice VIP lounge. The staff were very accommodating and it was very comfy! Then inside the seat were the coolest, and some of the comfiest seats I've ever sat on! (Only being beat by business class seats on airplanes that massage ;)) They were foot and back adjustable with a call button table. Our nachos came with salsa, guacamole, cheese and sour cream! But I think its some sort of movie theater rule to always give more chips than dip? lol I don't know, but it was nice that there were 2 kinds of chips! Loved it! I wish I could go gold class all the time!! lol

    super delicious danish! Like I hadnt had enough already (--,)
    lounging!
    We saw The Way Back! It was a good movie all the way. Not a lot of action but entertaining! Plus! Collin Ferrell is in it ;) Pam's rating is 4/5!

    We had a super nice evening after a super nice dinner at Pasir Panjang food center. The sneaky place n the middle of no where has pretty good food! Then there were the nice couple of hours a Kentridge park. They removed the tank! *gasp* Apparently it was still functional! And here I was always thinking that it was defunct and for museum display type thing! I once made out on top of it! LOL Anyway, good times, great people! *loves*

    Turkish day out and other randoms!

    Merry Marchness my loves! Its been so busy with things I almost forgot to blog! Lets catch up on some of the social events then!

    I helped host the SDP anniversary event again! This year's theme was Kampung night and held at Fort Canning Park. I couldn't really relate, but it was fun with awesome people and delicious food! I really enjoy events when people are super sporting ;)

    me an Jag
    tables for 200!
    table centerpieces designed by momma!

    Youngsoo came from Korea to play in the Nanolab and Singaporeans being the lame asses they are, apparently don't keep any sort of polite customs to spend even one night out to make someone who flew over the seas feel welcomed. However, Henrik and Ahmet are definitely the boys to be because they've been bringing him out and about! We had a Turkish night out in the toen! Ahmet brought us to Sofra at Shaw Tower because he says its the best Turkish food in Singapore and I would have to agree!

    hehe we can see the kitchen!appetizer!!!

    We had a mixed platter of appetizers with eggplant, humus, tomato salad and uber delicious olive leaf wraps! With the warm, fluffy flat bread, I could've had a plate to myself for dinner! Of course my main course was even more spectacular because of the kebap! I love love kebap meats! and it even came with all the fun sides.

    my super yummy main course!

    Ahmet is friendly with the owner so he came around to greet us as well. To be polite we ordered some Turkish tea and coffee. The cups were so cute! The coffee was wayy too strong for me but the tea came with a sugar cube. Yumm! I hate having such good food because then I'd want to eat it again and again!! *happies*

    tea with a sugar cube!
    coffee!

    Later in the night we were joined by one of Ahmet's friends at Arab street for some shisha and Turkish dessert! Apparently the store in the corner is the only one in singapore that serves this Turkish dessert. I have no idea why, because it was freaking amazing!!! Think Baclava flavored, but warm, with mozzarella cheese and milk around it. OMG heavennnn!!!

    coolest turkish teapot!!
    best dessert ever!
    shisha!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Pingy came over a couple of times! Once for a super delicious dinner we made, consisting of roast chicken, mushroom risotto, garlic bread and salad with ranch dressing!
    Super delicious New Zealand white wine!
    Other time for drinks at Holland V! We went to Sasboro the tapas bar because they have 1-for-1 beers all the time (--,) I had the most ginormous strawberry margarita!! It was delicious but way too warm to drink it at a leisurely pace! Afterwards we had long-missed mud pies and some potato skins at NYDC. Seriously, the nutty Grandma mudpie is probably the bestest mudpie in the world! It almost makes me want to give the place a second chance on their main courses...NOT. But wow! back to nutty awesomeness, awesomeeeee!!
    Ginormo margarita!!
    Mud pies!!! Nutty Grandma is the best!!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Other home economic happenings was when Nichelle came over to bake a surprise birthday cake for Damien's birthday! We got our supplies from Carrefour and Daiso (--,) and headed to mine for baking! We should have bought more baking pans, but our 2 strawberry cakes with pink cream cheese frosting turned out amazing anyway!

    Things you need:

    3 cups sifted cake flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    ½ cup buttermilk
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
    1¾ cups granulated sugar
    4 large eggs
    2 cups pureed fresh strawberries

    1. Line baking trays (you can do 2-3 layers, I did 2) with baking paper and heat the oven at 175 degrees celcius.

    2. Mix dry ingredients flour, baking powder and baking soda together.

    3. Cream the butter and sugar till light and fluffy, then add eggs individually until thoroughly mixed.

    4. mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture in three intervals, alternating with the buttermilk. (Start with the flour and end with the flour)

    5. When everything is completely mixed, fold in the fresh strawberries.

    6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. As always, wait until the cake is thoroughy cooled before frosting ;)

    Check out: Lady Gaga's new Video- Born This Way!! She is my hero and I do believe that people should accept each other for the way they are, no judgements and lots of love!
